Full VRS factor breakdown now on HLTV

You can now view exactly how a team earned its ranking points following an extensive update to HLTV's live implementation of the VRS.

A new update has hit the HLTV website that allows users to view a detailed breakdown of how a team earned its points on the Valve Regional Standings.

Each of the five sub-factors is listed with values assigned to each match or tournament result depending on the factor, allowing you to see how exactly they contributed to the ranking.

Each section also explains how the given sub-factor is calculated to offer more insight into the ranking in addition to the other VRS-related features HLTV released in the past, such as the live implementation of it itself, match impact forecast and prediction of future VRS invites.

You can view the detailed breakdown of any team's VRS by going to the ranking page, clicking the desired team, and going to "Ranking details." You can also choose a snapshot from any day of your choosing in the filter on the left.

VRS_i = 400 + [ ( ( [Bounty Offered] + [Bounty Collected] + [Opponent Network] + [LAN Wins] )/4 - Min ) / (Max - Min) ] * 1600 + Head to Head Adjustments Where: Bounty Offered = 1/(1+abs(log10((sum of top 10 age weighted prizes)/reference bounty))) Bounty Collected = sum of event weighted and age weighted prizes from defeated opponents Opponent Network = distinct opponents defeated / maximum distinct opponents LAN Wins = sum of LAN event weights / maximum LAN sum Age Weight = exponential decay based on time (e^(-lambda * time)) Event Weight = tournament prestige factor (Major = 1.0, etc.) Head to Head = ELO adjustments from direct matches with decay over time Min = minimum average value (typically 0) Max = maximum average value among all teams I am not kidding, this is fr.

simplified, it's this: 1) lan wins + prize money earned = starting vrs 2) match wins or losses is a small adjustment to the starting vrs, called head-to-head adjustment the 2nd one can be basically ignored, so it's just lan wins + prize money. the only other thing to know is that the points decay completely over 6 months, so vrs has like a 3-month recency bias.

h2h adjustment is the total sum of all points gained or lost in matches. for example, if i play today 3 matches where i get +10 vrs each, and then 4th match where i get -50 vrs, my h2h adjustment today is -20. an important detail is that the points from individual matches decay over 6 months as well. you can see this in the official spreadsheets, for example github.com/ValveSoftware/counter-strike_.. as for period, all vrs data is 6 months to the date of rating update. all of it decays in weight, so something from 3 months ago has 1/2 the points, and something from 5 months ago 1/6 the points.

pls read carefully. vrs data window is 6 months. if something is 3 months old, 3 months are remaining. 3/6 = 1/2 coefficient if something is 5 months old, 1 month is remaining. 1/6 coefficient.
