FISSURE Playground 2XANTARES stars as Aurora beat FURIA to secure FPG2 playoff berth

Aurora are through to the playoffs of FISSURE Platground 2 after a convincing two-map series victory over FURIA in the Swiss group stage's 2-0 pool.
The Turks got the job done with ease on Inferno (13-6) before recovering from a deficit on Dust2 (13-11), with excellence from Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş the highlight across the series.
The 30-year-old ended the series with a 1.74 rating, +9.48% Round Swing, 113.5 ADR, and 45 frags — 10 more than his closest teammate.
Aurora were unrelenting on Inferno, only hindered by a loss to a second-round force-buy that let FURIA up to a 4-1 lead. The Turks soon emerged victorious from embattled mid-round fights, however, initially led by Özgür "woxic" Eker before a superlative showing from XANTARES completely stole the show.
The Turkish rifler tallied a 2.00 rating, +13.43% Round Swing, and 116.1 ADR as Aurora went on an 11-round run, with a 2v5 alongside woxic in the second pistol adding insult to injury before Aurora closed out.
Samet "jottAAA" Köklü and Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalçın allowed that spree to carry on early doors on Dust2, with FURIA unable to consistently crack past the defense until round nine. A surgical triple kill by Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato from Car in the second pistol then saw FURIA take the lead, 9-6, but several multi-kills from XANTARES and woxic quickly flipped the script.
FURIA's aggressive Middle stances were shut down and B site picked apart, with Aurora giving up just two more en route to victory.
