FlyQuest eliminated as DraculaN playoffs day 2 reaches end

The Australian giants exit the Romanian LAN in 7th-8th place.

The field at DraculaN Season 2 has been whittled to six remaining contenders following the end of the second day of play, with FlyQuest, AM and SINNERS among the teams sent packing on Friday.

The second-highest-ranked team per the VRS heading into the event, FlyQuest looked well off the pace throughout the tournament. Their elimination came at the hands of unranked GenOne in the third lower bracket round after they barely fended off SINNERS, who wasted a series point on Mirage in a 2v1 situation against Iulian "⁠regali⁠" Harjău.

FlyQuest are tied for 31st place in the global VRS and remain in fourth position in the Asian ranking, still well inside the qualification zone for the Major. Asia will send six teams to Budapest (one to Stage 3, one to Stage 2, and four to Stage 1).

"That’s it for us at Draculan," Declan "⁠Vexite⁠" Portelli wrote on X after the match. "Unfortunately, we just haven’t been able to click as a team, and the results are reflecting it."

Meanwhile, OG and BASEMENT BOYS advanced to Saturday's upper bracket final after defeating ECSTATIC and Passion UA, respectively.

It has been an incredible tournament run from BASEMENT BOYS, who defeated FlyQuest and Nexus in the first two playoff rounds. The streak of LAN wins has catapulted the Ukrainian team to 108th in the global VRS.
