GamerLegion secure Stage 2 berth with victory over B8

The Ukrainian squad will have one more chance to advance from the 2-2 pool.

GamerLegion beat B8 2-0 to advance to the ESL Pro League's Stage 2, sending the Ukraianians to the 2-2 pool where they'll play a final decider series to try and progress past the first Swiss stage.

The series kicked off on an Ancient pick by B8, but GamerLegion punished the Andrii "⁠npl⁠" Kukharskyi-led squad instead of it being the other way around.

A 7-5 T side was followed up with an important pistol round and three more on the trot to make it 11-5, an almost insurmountable scoreline that was turned to a 1-0 lead in the series six rounds later, 13-9.

B8 didn't shrivel up on Inferno and were very strong on the retakes, winning seven of them in an 8-4 half. It wasn't enough, however, and after giving up the fourth of four pistol rounds, GamerLegion clawed their way back.

Down 9-11, and led by a strong performance by Sebastian "⁠Tauson⁠" Tauson Lindelof on the defense, GamerLegion won the final four rounds of regulation as B8 choked in the late stages of the map.

GamerLegion closed the map out 13-9 and the series 2-0, forfeiting the need to go to the Dust2 decider and earning a small breather before Stage 2, which will kick off on October 4.
