The organization shared that ICY has not been benched and remains part of the main roster.

Virtus.pro have announced that VP.Prodigy AWPer Vladimir "⁠b1st⁠" Krasikov will temporarily join their main roster for CS Asia Championships 2025 in place of Kaisar "⁠ICY⁠" Faiznurov.

Despite the change, Virtus.pro stated that ICY has not been benched and remains part of the main roster.

"The decision was made together with the players and coaching staff: the team wants to test a new AWPer and give the young player an opportunity to prove himself on the international stage," Virtus.pro's statement reads.

The decision comes amid an unstable period for the Russian-majority squad. The team removed Timur "⁠FL4MUS⁠" Marev in favor of Ilya "⁠Perfecto⁠" Zalutskiy during the summer break, with the ex-Natus Vincere member then soon taking over IGL duties following Denis "⁠electroNic⁠" Sharipov's benching.

The team then promoted Vadim "⁠tO0RO⁠" Arkov for FISSURE Playground 2 and narrowly missed out on a playoff spot despite the youngster having a good debut tournament.

tO0RO will now be joined by another VP.Prodigy played b1st, who averaged a 1.20 rating across several online competitions during 2025 and was the academy outfit's highest-rated player.

Virtus.pro's roster for CS Asia Championships 2025 will be:

I dont think Mouz NXT is the only good example of a good academy. Spirit Academy and Navi Junior did that too. Navi Junior made m0nesy, b1t and makazze. Spirit Academy made donk, kyousuke and zontix. Mouz NXT made xertion, jimpphat, siuhy and torszi. Mouz NXT made more stars, but none of them is donk or m0nesy level

the "star" factor is nothing an academy can teach, they have / become it or not, its a mindset aswell with putting in the extra hours plus talent itself. + mouz nxt brought alot more guys into t1/t2 teams with the 4 you mentioned aswell as PR (GL), JDC (BIG), Neityu (ENCE), Cr1zN (OG), sirah (ECSTATIC) and even sl3nd (GL), burmylov (fnatic), Nexius (OG) & mhL (Falcons) had stints in t2 teams.

The goal of an academy is also to find the best prospects, not only to find the replacements and average players. Donk, kyousuke and m0nesy are generational talents that were raised to be a star player from the beginning of their academy careers. Kyousuke is not proven yet, for sure, but he already shows what he is capable of. The academy can teach the player to be a star player, it is just a very rare thing that happens. Also, there are a lot more players from Spirit Academy and Navi Junior, that played in t1.5-t2. Spirit Academy: - Patsi (Spirit, Liquid) - S1ren (Spirit) - ArtFr0st (Spirit) - KaiRON (VP) - Magnojez (BB) - Alkaren (Heroic) NaVi Junior: - topa (Passion UA) - fear (fnatic) - headtrick (NiP, B8) - npl (Na'Vi, B8) You can say BB and B8 are not that good, but you yourself gave ECSTATIC and ENCE as an example.
