Spirit are the first team into ESL Pro League Season 22's playoffs after going 3-0 in Andrey "⁠tN1R⁠" Tatarinovich's debut.

The 24-year-old Belarussian said he was "not sure I should play like a star player" in his new team, such is the wealth of talent around him, but he showed a level of performance in today's series we rarely saw from Boris "⁠magixx⁠" Vorobiev or Myroslav "⁠zont1x⁠" Plakhotia.

tN1R, playing against his former comrades Eetu "⁠sAw⁠" Saha and Álvaro "⁠SunPayus⁠" García, outdid even Danil "⁠donk⁠" Kryshkovets, with a +8.53% Swing on map one and going 9-1 to kick off Mirage.

Over time, it is likely he will settle as the team's third star behind donk and Dmitry "⁠sh1ro⁠" Sokolov, but this series was a great example of the firepower upgrade Spirit were looking for when they signed him from HEROIC.

But it was not like donk was quiet; he still ended the series on 108.2 ADR and put on a show with 14 frags in 10 rounds on the CT side of Mirage.

The combination of tN1R (1.65 rating) and donk (1.57) over the series is a frightening prospect for Spirit's competitors.

MIRACLE ON MIRAGE! Sergey “Neverpass” Hally actually got it RIGHT this time - even a broken clock is correct twice a day. He IGNORED Overpass again - the map EVERY fan begged for - the map EVERY player shines on - and somehow it WORKED. Thank God for Donk and tN1r - the two CARRYING machines dragging these WRONG PICKS on their backs. Without them Spirit would already be packing. You don’t “practice” in elimination matches - you WIN them. Sergey “Neverpass” Hally keeps using tournaments as PRACTICE when he should be doing that in scrims. This isn’t a training camp - it’s a playoff! Other coaches prepare - he experiments. Other teams win - he “learns.” It’s INSANE! EVEN IN ELIMINATION GAMES HE’S STILL PRACTICING! PATHETIC!

Not yet, bro - but with Hally’s veto it’s always one match away. He didn’t pick it at EWC 2025 and went out in the FIRST match - 16th place. He didn’t pick it at BLAST either - finished 7th-8th. If you don’t pick Overpass in elimination matches and you don’t pick it in non-elimination matches - WHEN DO YOU PICK YOUR BEST AND THE STRONGEST MAP? COMPLETE FAILURE!

donk had lots of anti-eco and exit frags, lost a post-plant 1v1 (when he had 1hp but swing doesnt account for that), and people need to understand the nature of mulitkills having diminishing returns. hes the guy hunting in 4v2s for the last 2 kills where you get less swing than in 4v4s or 2v2s. hes still rewarded for his raw output via the rest of rating, but lots happened to hurt his swing this series

I'm sorry to say that, but there are so many Drawbacks of HLTV Rating 3.0 1. Overemphasis on Survival and Consistency The system gives significant weight to survival and consistent contribution across rounds. Aggressive players (e.g., entry fraggers or high-risk riflers like donk) who die frequently but make huge early-round impacts can be undervalued. 2. Undervaluation of Opening Kills While first kills are tactically critical, the model calculates impact mainly as “round win probability change,” which often underestimates opening kills in full 5v5 scenarios. 3. Ignores Player Skill or Status The algorithm does not account for the importance of the killed opponent (e.g., killing a star player is treated the same as killing a low-impact player). 4. Lack of Context Awareness Rating 3.0 only evaluates individual round-level impact, ignoring macro factors like: Psychological effects on opponents, Economic chain reactions, Momentum shifts across rounds. 5. Bias Toward Clutch / Late-Round Performance Players who perform well in high-leverage late-round situations often receive higher ratings, even if early-round contributions were equally or more decisive in practice. 6. Limited Role Sensitivity The system does not differentiate between roles. It also depends how you die and to what weapons you die. He died a few times to weaker weapons. The rating donk got today was fair. 3.0 isn't flawless but 100x better than 2.1. He's at 1.30 overall rating and if we don't count the 0.39 rated map he would be at 1.45. That is fair with the way donk has played.
