FaZe suffer opening loss to FUT at CAC

After a promising showing at ESL Pro League, FaZe have been handed a setback.

FaZe have opened their CS Asia Championships campaign with a defeat at the hands of FUT, losing a hard fought BO1 affair on Mirage (11-13).

The result comes after FaZe put forth a strong showing at ESL Pro League in recent days, making a run to top four in Russel "⁠Twistzz⁠" Van Dulken first event back with the team.

There are certainly mitigating factors for FaZe, who finished their ESL Pro League campaign only two days ago and then had to make the long journey to China. They are also playing the event in Shanghai with a new lineup, Jakub "⁠jcobbb⁠" Pietruszewski having come back into the fold after Håvard "⁠rain⁠" Nygaard played EPL due to roster rules.

Both teams struggled to put T-side rounds on the board in the matchup, FUT managing only three in the first half as FaZe's firepower trio put up strong performances to lock down the bombsites.

FaZe then mustered an even worse return of two T rounds, jcobbb the only man offering much punching power as Nikita "⁠cmtry⁠" Samolotov, Džiugas "⁠dziugss⁠" Steponavičius and latest signing Laurențiu "⁠lauNX⁠" Țârlea posted around 100 ADR each to hold down the fort for FUT.
