Legacy claim breakthrough playoff berth at CAC

The Brazilian side bested 3DMAX to earn their first international LAN playoff berth since impressing at BLAST.tv Austin Major.

Legacy are through to the playoffs of CS Asia Championships, claiming their berth with a 2-1 series win over 3DMAX. The Brazilian side dominated 3DMAX on Dust2 (13-6), lost on Nuke (8-13), before closing the series with a comfortable win on Inferno (13-7).

This win serves as a breakthrough for Legacy as it is their first international LAN playoff since they turned heads at BLAST.tv Austin Major, where they beat Vitality and narrowly missed out on a playoff spot.

Since that appearance in Austin Legacy have struggled to kick on, exiting international tournaments like BLAST Bounty, BLAST Open London, and FPG2 early doors.

The Brazilians were good value for their win over 3DMAX, the two sides securing their own map picks before Legacy outclassed their opponents with a stellar CT side on Inferno.

Vinicius "⁠n1ssim⁠" Pereira was the man of the match, racking up a staggering 2.00 rating on Dust2 and then topping the scoreboard once again on Inferno, helping his team pick up a well earned playoff berth.

And he does it so well that it applies insane pressure for the other team and makes it so they don’t rotate. And even if he pushes he usually gets a kill, even when they know he’s lurking there.

Really bad veto from 3dm. I think if they didn't let inferno and dust through and played any other maps they would have won. Legacy are very good on dust2 and inferno
