FURIA reverse-sweep NAVI to win TWC 2025
FalleN's charges picked up their second LAN trophy in the space of a month after recovering from a 0-2 deficit.

FURIA came back from two maps down to beat Natus Vincere 3-2 and win the 2025 edition of the Thunderpick World Championship. It's the second trophy of the season for the Brazilian outfit, cementing their status as favorites for a deep run at the Major in Budapest.
The FISSURE Playground 2 champions headed into the best-of-five series with a clean sheet after three 2-0 victories, only to be brought back down to earth as they dropped Mirage and Inferno without putting up much of a fight.
FURIA's Brazilian trio then powered the team to a Nuke win before Danil "molodoy" Golubenko and Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis took over for the final two maps.
"It was very hard," YEKINDAR said after the match. "NAVI is a great team. I'm glad we overcame ourselves. Today we woke up with the wrong leg first. molodoy is sick, everybody is fucking exhausted. But instincts, or I don't know what you want to call it, but something came on the third, fourth and fifth maps, and I'm glad."
FURIA's title completes a dream day for Brazilian Counter-Strike after Legacy won the CS Asia Championships over 3DMAX in Shanghai. They will now enjoy a short break before a trip to Asia for IEM Chengdu and BLAST Rivals.
Natus Vincere, meanwhile, will be kicking themselves for wasting the chance to add to their StarLadder StarSeries Fall trophy. They faded as the series went on, with Valeriy "b1t" Vakhovskiy the only one who looked capable of making something happen as the team around him disintegrated.

NAVI made a dream start to the series as they took control of proceedings from the initial exchanges on Mirage. They looked like a well-oiled machine on the T side, while YEKINDAR (1-12) and molodoy (4-8) were unable to have any impact for FURIA as the half ended with a lopsided 10-2 score.
Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo kept his team in the game with a decisive 1v1 clutch in the pistol round, but by then the deficit was simply too big to overcome. The momentum shifted as soon as Natus Vincere had money to work with, and the map came to a quick conclusion.
Natus Vincere carried that momentum into Inferno, where they once again came out the brighter of the two teams with a strong T side. The game was threatening to spiral out of control for FURIA, but then the Brazilians finally hit their stride on the defense to bring the deficit down to two rounds.
molodoy and FalleN came up clutch in the ensuing pistol round, powering FURIA to take the lead for the first time in the series. But it wouldn't last: Natus Vincere kept a tight defense once guns came out, with b1t leading the charge on the defense with a +11.98% round swing, four multi-kills and a 125 ADR.
FURIA gave a much better account of themselves on Nuke, where they recovered from a 0-2 start and grabbed eight rounds on the defense thanks to Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato and FalleN, who combined for 28 frags.
The Brazilians increased their lead even further after a successful 3v3 post-plant and a hero 1v2 clutch by FalleN. Natus Vincere made a run and chipped away at the deficit once they had money in the bank, but their respite proved brief as FURIA put the map to rest.
After being quiet for the better part of the first three maps, molodoy finally began to show glimpses of his best Counter-Strike. He racked up 15 frags to power FURIA to a commanding 8-4 lead in a half where NAVI were unable to string rounds together.
And then it was YEKINDAR's time to shine. The Latvian nearly picked up an ace in the pistol round to add to FURIA's lead, and the Brazilians rode that momentum to a quick finish, sending the series to an all-decider Train.
More misery was to come for NAVI, who were caught off-guard by Yuri "yuurih" Santos in the first round of Train. That was the start of a dominant CT half from the Brazilian side, who cruised to an 11-1 lead, with FalleN dealing the hapless NAVI the finishing blow with a 4K in the following pistol round.
