ESWC to invite 8 more CS teams
The Electronic Sports World Cup has announced that eight more Counter-Strike teams will be invited for this year's finals.
These eight Counter-Strike teams will have to come from countries where the ESWC will not hold any qualifiers, with Denmark, Germany and the United States three examples.
Although the ESWC has announced National Partners in 35 countries, it has been revealed on its official website that the CS tournament will contain just 28 teams, 12 of whom will enter with an invitation.
Teams that wish to apply for one of these eight invites can do so until May 28th by going to the the ESWC's official website. The list of selected teams will be made public on May 31st.
The eight invited teams, who will have to pay only travel costs, will be selected by the ESWC commitee according to their achievements, motivation and capacity to attend the tournament.
The following list, published today on the ESWC's website, means that some countries, such as Portugal, Brazil and the Baltic states have been overlooked, but it is unknown whether it will still be updated:
