After weeks of insecurity surrounding cbteam's existence, the team has now been put dead by their spokesman.

cbteam was reformed early 2010 after three Lions members opted to part ways with the Norwegian-based organization, to team up with two from its original lineup. The team quickly positioned themselves as the top team in Norway.

Although stating an impressive show in the WES Masters Cup, beating teams such as Evil Geniuses, H2k-Gaming and Playzone.se, the team failed to make an appearance at The Gathering. This turned out to be the start of their downfall.

For one month ago, the team was strongly linked up with 4Kings, and according to their official webpage they had already been signed. This information was shortly withdrawn, and stayed a rumor. Ten days later, Karl-William "kalle" Haraldsen was reported to exit cbteam in near future.

This rumor was earlier today verified by Lions officials, while Tommy "tacky" Mosgaard was announced into the lineup as a permanent fifth. With this, cbteam stood left with three members, and the team's spokesman, Anders "aNdEEh" Johansen, has now laid the team to rest.

"It is always sad to see the end of a team, no matter how long or short it has existed. When cbteam first started, i was like a child, thinking we might have an international top team from Norway again. And through its time, cbteam showed some truely great results online", Anders Johansen told HLTV.org.

"When the team failed to attend The Gathering, i - aswell as many others started to get a bad feeling. The hopes stayed up, but when we realised the deal with 4Kings was drowned, it seemed like the end. And it probably was."

"I will keep hoping for a new topteam - and with kalle and tacky leaving for Lions, i hope they can make it."

cbteam had the following lineup:

Preben "prb" Gammelsæter
Tommy "syrtekz" Skoglund

It it always sad to see the end of a team, no matter how long or short it has existed. When cbteam first started, i was like a child, thinking we might have an international top team from Norway again. And through its time, cbteam showed some truely great results online.

that's what happens when u got people like the remaining trio in the team who dont have any patience whatsoever and if they dont find an organisation within a couple of months they fold. a potential international topteam from norway follows the same destiny as hundreds of highly ranked finnish teams done in the past...

too bad for 4kings org and cbteam. would really boost their motivation as a team, and improve the 4kings org as they havent had a decent team since what, 2005? prb and real has accomplished soo much over the years (team9, catch-gamer)best of luck to them. sadly once again, the norwegian cs scene is dead.

Seems like the present norwegian top players just cant form a team that would last. Guess u need someone new, 5 young players who have motivation and want to succeed. Sad to see cbteams end though.. Hope u still have motivation to play, just get some young blood and try again.

I don't understand why teams have to fold just because they don't find organisations? What happened to the fact that CS is fun, and how can it be so hard staying motivated without an organisation? You can't expect to find a good organisation after a few good online results, but if you keep playing, and keep playing good, eventually a perfectly fine organisation will recruit you, due to signs of motivation and skill!
