Natus Vincere win ESWC qualifier

Natus Vincere has successfully claimed the ESWC spot after finishing off PinG on two maps in the Ukrainian ESWC qualifier.

The Ukrainian Electronic Sports World Cup qualifier attracted twelve teams, among them names like Natus Vincere, PinG, and KerchNET. Not unexpectedly, all three made it to the playoff stage together with eXplosive.

Natus Vincere had no real problems advancing to the semi-final, after beating eXplosive in a 2-0 manner, whereas KerchNET had to see a 2-1 defeat versus PinG.

The teams started out on de_inferno, and Natus Vincere displayed a dominant effect over PinG, who however put up a good fight. But in the end, it was not enough, and Natus Vincere could claim a 16-8 victory. On de_train, which would turn out to be the final map, Natus Vincere once again came out as the strongest ones, finishing off PinG with a 16-11 scoreline.

With the Ukrainian ESWC qualifier being concluded, Natus Vincere has secured a spot to the ESWC 2010 Global Finals in Disneyland, France, between 30th of June - 4th of July.

I thought it was a waste of a qualifier tbh. Na`Vi should get a direct invite to ESWC. Ukraine deserves at least 2 teams to go to the finals.

agreed. PinG is a great team too, and they should be qualified too...i mean France has two spots for ESWC, so why not Ukraine too?

It depends on the individual organizers how many teams go. Each nation may send three Counter-Strike teams if I remember correctly (2 male/1 female - CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG HLTV.org CREW!). If the organizer in the country can't afford to send the team, or the license to have the teams there then that's a shame for the country. I'm sure that ESWC as an organization would be happy to have PiNG at the Grand Final, but it's up to the organizer to pay. ----------------------- This is why France has 2 teams. It's really cheap to send teams from France to an event in France, so they obviously get 2 slots.

I don't usually comment or care about this kind of stuff, but I noticed a double negative was used in this article. Just for future articles I figured I'd point out that double negatives such as "Not unexpectedly" are grammar's worst enemy. I'm just saying this for the benefit of the author, thank you.

It's all very relative. Unless you can find an official source stating that double negatives are in fact always incorrect, I'll stick with my statement. You can find sites that claim the use of double negatives for emphasis is a correct and viable option as well, like this one: www.word-mart.com/html/grammar_tips.html#DoubleNegatives P.S. Regarding your wikipedia link: Improper is not the same as incorrect.

Well there are sources for both sides, some saying it is a mistake and some say it is improper yet usable. Either way, lets put this subject aside and have a good day shall we? I have a fractured bone in my foot due to ankle getting twisted while heading to the gym, I honestly would like some peace for now.
