ESWC announce invited teams

The Electronic Sports World Cup has announced the eight teams which have received an invitation to the 2010 event in Paris.

On the 15th of May, the Electronic Sports World Cup issued an announcement saying that eight teams from countries which did not feature a qualifier would receive an invitation to this year's finals.

Several teams promptly started the sign-up process at the ESWC's official website, and today the candidates were revealed:

United States compLexity Germany Thermaltake
Korea WeMade FOX United States Blight Gaming
Denmark OSLF.dk Brazil Made in Brazil

would say there is 1 better team in holland and a few in the benelux but since dDd joined KaoS looks to mesh finally and their talents can come out. they have slayn myxo (former logics) and metalx zemik (hot new talent, zem1k already played 1 for team-NL and did well) and ofcourse former CNO star dDd now. they can do anything OK can Im sure, and it was for countries WITHOUT qualifiers, pretty sure norway had one from the top of my head? good news for kaosTV aswell maybe, hope to be there aswell (as host/interviewer)

Don't get me wrong, I wish all the best for the Danish teams, but looking at the application list, I must admit I would choose PiNG instead for example. With that being said, I must admit that I can't see other teams with better past achievements on the list. I would definately pick you over Kaos (?) and the other as PiNG What lineup will attend the event?

PinG cant get invite, because they had a national qualifier. Therefore they are not picked. We are playing with the same lineup as kode5 germany. That is the one we got invite with.

I'm not sure, but I think it's based on individual achievements too and not just a team's, and that's why OSLF is invited. I might be wrong tho, if I am it gotta be a joke or mistake :p

There has never been any news about them doing anything internationally, which is what the teams have been chosen on. I don't flame them, I just don't understand why a nonamer got a spot for ESWC, thats all. And I changed my mind about OSLF.dk, after looking at the applying teams :)

Kaos is not nonamer, as they usually have the best dutch players/teams in several games. they have a gamecafe/internetcafe, and good resources. and now they have a top3 benelux 1.6 team and there weren't many choices outside of the benelux teams that were not "nonamers" who would you have chosen, Online kingdom? I know the players but I don't recognize them as top international players, just below that. so I guess some would call them nonamers aswell. but I understand your doubt. but these guys have experience playing with guys such as seezung tommeh trx ferrid roachz skire muh etc. this might just be the boost they need

I would definately not choose OK instead, as they haven't achieved anything either. My choice would have been PING, which is why I think the rule about if there already had been a qualifier in a country, the teams wouldn't be chosen, is a fail by ESWC. Besides that, if it has to be a team from benelux, I would probably choose AA, since they have been more internationally activ, but then again, I don't know much a bout the benelux scene. But maybe this is the boost Kaos need, as you mentioned. They will get a GL from me, and I hope they can prove me wrong :)

None of the teams you mentioned are from the Benelux (belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg). Archaic, FireGamers, Ledpc, UMX, n!Faculty, CHEAP TIMES, x6tence & PinG are not from Benelux and thats why they didn't get invited instead of KaoS. For the Benelux spot their were 4 teams: KaoS: dDd, zemik, slaYn, myxo, metalx Antwerp Aces: Monu, Apollo, nunji, ciseta, nookbrid SyNergy: Skire, ferrid, roachz, triks, deki Equiped: guidson, tazzie, cebbieh, qekk, xilo so you can name 1000 other team names who would be better but still would not get invited because they don't come from benelux!

A bit surprised to see Kaos and OSLF.dk on the list. It states that only teams which did not have a country qualifier would be eligible to receive an invite, which rules out PinG I suppose. On the female side, I'm also a bit surprised to see the teams invited. MIBR and Blight anyone? As above, EYESports did not get invited to due the Russian qualifier. But, no invite for Alternate? Hmm...

Team thermaltake female is at the moment much stronger than alternate. THey are at EMS and EFL both nr.1 ranked. And thermaltake won alternate with big numbers. Besides that the line up of thermaltake are all experienced former ESWC players. So personally I think it's the best choice. But the danish invite (males) is really not good investigation!

doesn't fg girls have 2 or so girls from the teams that took the silver medal at eswc in 04 and 05? while mibr has 0 members from those teams (as far as i know). i also believe brazil should definitely get an eswc spot but you can't say mibr.femme deserves it because of achievements of other female teams or male teams from the same country, in my opinion anyway.

Yeah as the other guy mentioned the Brazilian female cs scene has a relatively successful history in the ESWC, and besides that, they probably focused into a wider variety of countries instead of inviting several teams from a single country, especially when most of the teams playing will be the invited ones, as the female tournament has nearly no qualifiers (as far as I've heard at least?). Also, the fact that MiBR can easily pay for their trip is probably something that worked in their favor, since I doubt any other South American team could afford the trip, and they're the only team from the Southern hemisphere in the tournament :P.

aah wait I got to page four now, ferrid is actually being very sportsmanlike :) translated highlights: lets not discuss this too much, its nice a closed invite good motivationboost for the dutch cs scene as there aren´t many tournaments here have fun in disneyworld every dutch-belgian EPS team deserves it, maybe AA the most but who knows and he also said luosrevo shouldnt kiss kaos asses ;) big ups to ferrid I could have imagined syNergy to be very dissapointed like AA and a same response, fact of the matter is its a hard choice in holland/belgium but kaos/fture/pwp has been a stable factor for quite some time now, and have amazing talent in the LU. giving them a chance to show it to the world is only fair.

I am not surprised OSLF made the list. I acctually thought they would since they just won an event so it is sort of fresh in peoples minds. Doesn't justify them being there just saying I am not surprised. As for Kaos ... I didn't even notice there name on the list the first time I read it. Especially when you have teams like Online-Kingdom, Alchemists, PinG, CHEAP TIMES, or ATE still on the list. n!faculty are also obviously good enough but there then there would have been three german teams so that might be why they thought against it.

Dear Monu, If you want to know why you didn't got invited for the ESWC 2010 is becuz when a belgium team performs on the ESWC they won't come further then the first matches, and if i am not mistaken Digitalmind with 3 belgium players in it was not a great suc6 also at ESWC so why do you think that you ppl don't get invited, just becuz you won 1 lan? get away fool try to win more then just 1 little lan in a country (that is bigger in gaming then your country) before you go to ESWC. Oh and btw i hope you will enjoy the bus ride back home cause its going to be 1 hell of a nasty ride for AA especially you Monu.

My man, we are not even going by bus. We are going by plane, so beat it fanboy + your comment is bollox since Belgium is dominating Netherlands for almost a year now, all the good players of Netherlands quit playing or are playing in EPS Germany and NL has no upcoming talent at all at this moment.

Ok Monu, But just like godfather says H2K is a dutch organisation and they have a good name in the gaming scene. Have you ever heard a belgium ORGANISATION! that made it so far as H2K. And if you was invited together with KaoS then you wouldn't be flaming right now am i right mister? Maybe you can try next year then your team is 2 years together maybe you get luck then:) And yes im a fanboy of KaoS

i don't get you guys anymore, you're arguing which team would deserve it the most, and that i definetely AA because they at least are known outside of benelux, you see them at semi-big tournaments, never ever seen a dutch team in a big tournament. But why does the organisations come in then? H2k i'm pretty sure didn't start out as CS organization and they havn't had a dutch team for ages, so where are you going with it?

"never ever seen a dutch team in a big tournament" CNO in wcg2007, 14-16 loss to roccat in group stage and yet made it through as second, then almost upset virtus pro in overtime but narrow loss. I think it was muh(might have been triks), and of these four Im sure: skire roachz ferrid dDd of these four are in syNergy so granted they might be deserving of an invite, on the other hand they all took a long break and dDd was always seen @ lan events in 2009/2010, maybe not as active as before but usually still played. I would have loved to see any of the 3 benelux teams play (or even shadows or equipped), Im glad at least one got the chance for an amazing experience, and all 5 of kaos are swell guys with great skill so why not. why call it close to get far? they impressed huge in that tourney (whole year actually) that wcg they beat the titans from singapore, with techduck strykerx etc, maybe not A class but certainly international veterans and a great team!

lmao this was the most retarded post ever ;) cuz last time i went ESWC we won against wNv with full Belgian team, we fought good against mTw who became second :) ESWC before we were 3 Belgians with DigitalMind :) we didnt train back then and won the qual without problem but we pld 14-16 against Astralis which almost gave us the road to the playoffs if we didn't lose under circumstances so if u gonna start making up false statements and excuses, u deserve to be broken down :') This team actually trained alot more than we did with that ESWC team, nevertheless, i wish Kaos a good time @ ESWC even though i'd love to be there, I grant certain people the big event ^^ glgl

Stop complaining about Online Kingdom, they are horrible, have you watched their matches on EPS Nordic!? they sure dont deserve a spot, besides that Norway already have a representant (and better than O-K). About Kaos... well i dont know a lot about benelux teams but looking for the lineups in #70, AA and synergy have better lineups. OSLF was chosen because of the lineup i think, but what they ever did!? as a team i mean

Online-Kingdom is pretty strong, if compare to some already invited teams. They are perspective team which really need pracctice at such big international LAN's. And if you didn't know counter-strike is teamplay game, so 1 player can't "make team alive", as you said. kthxbye~

Pretty ridiculous how ESWC decides to invite Blight Gaming's female team instead of Burntpink, they should take more time into actually investigating alleged legit organizations... I guess it is logical for ESWC to "go" for the teams backed up by "Organizations" but Blight Gaming? lol Been there, done that and it's straight up fail. ~

Ya, burntPink actually puts time into the game, has experienced players, and are good! The only reason Blight got invited is due to the organization, which hasn't actually sent any team anywhere. Blight is a fake organization that burntPink actually turned down in the past!

I don't mean to barge, as I'm reading the comments but... First of all, yeah we are terrible with 75 ping as an average for a team, sorry we don't get 25 or less. No offense to Blight Gaming ladies. Second, have you heard of SK Ladies? I understand you backing up Blight Gaming Females, but you cannot say they're the best N.A females. SK Ladies is by far the best. Everyone knows that, way to make yourself look like a douche by talking trash about a girls team. None of these people have said the Blight Gaming Girls were terrible, all they talked about was the organization.

blight gaming ladies are a very good/skilled team... they deserve to go to eswc but i can't help but be a little surprised that they were invited over us (burntpink) since i believe the only one with international lan experience on their team is cath, who played at 1 eswc (excuse me if im wrong)... while for our team i've attended 3 eswc's with GX3/SK Ladies and won in 2005, mittens won an eswc with SK in 07 and jess has gone to 2 or 3 eswc's as well. it looks like they were inviting teams based on sponsorships also instead of just achievements. regardless, ill be wishing them luck at eswc and i think they'll go far :)

AA achievements > KaoS , last lan they played was 16 6 final or something... If you going on the past Of NL and BE maybe NL got better achievements but none of them had players of KaoS included tbh so saying that kaos deserves a spot over AA ( who are doing more international then KaoS ) yea IOL with a semi mix team they still survived the group stage wich KaoS would probably fail at and then got beaten by the IOL winners i dunno about bad performance ... Kaos maybe 3the in benelux after AA and SYC so was a big mistake of ESWC chosing them tbh ! But if you see 2 teams of algeria who can suck balls you alreayd understand the brainless activity of the eswc crew nuff said ciao see you at dreamhack and gamegune

dDd ring a bell? if not youven't been following CS for longer than 2/3 years not saying I disagree on AA deserving the spot aswell, that's another discussion, but saying this line-up doesnt hold any former top players in untrue. and besides apollo AA doesnt have any real oldschool players aswell, atm the new kids on the block are a better choice than the old guys who dont practice much anymore (respect to those who are still around btw :P)

Some very questionable choices regarding a couple of teams (OSLF.dk, KaoS), but for the most part its a reasonably good selection of teams (EG, mTw, Playzone, WMF, Alternate, coL)

I have reason to believe that Expert-Gaming will take "Oslo Lions"' spot, as Gunnar "zEn" Eng is now a part of them, and holds the ticket. But I need to do some digging.

My statement is based upon that zEn owned the "organization" alchemists Unleashed, which he also does upto this day, and that he was the team leader. This justifies why he rightfully owns the ticket.

Well expected attitude from BeNeLux players, u knew from the beginning that only 1 team could be selected and still u complain, whine and cry. KAOS has been chosen, instead of supporting them to perform well for BeNeLux you complain WHY THEY GET CHOSEN andl some players get their super statistics out of their achievment box to show they deserve the spot more. That kind of mentality, you should be ashamed of yourself. Its too bad AA was not chosen, nothing to do... KAOS is a good team, I have played with dDd back in the days and he is a great leader and a solid player. I m from BELGIUM Btw. Beetje zielig van nookbrid en monu om te zagen en je tegenstander met wie je straks op de bus ga zitten onderweg naar Dreamhack te kleineren. Shout out to g0tek !

there should have been a qualifier, u are right about that. I think they (ESCW) just looked on the world cs ranking list, and looked up their ESL EPS Benelux rankings.

Sorry to all the burntpink ladies. I really wish that both teams could get invited, but unfortunately it is not the case... First of all i would like to say how can you say that a team doesn't deserve to go only by its name? " burntPink actually puts time into the game, has experienced players, and are good!" Sorry but i think that also applies to us. Plus, "i really don't mean to barge", but we have been more dedicated to this game for the past few months than you guys have been for the past years. Look at our steam profiles and see how many hours we have played for the past 2 weeks... whatever my point is that don't judge a book by its cover, because if you want to talk about what team deserves it the most than its obviously something we can talk and argue about. p.s to aymei : feel free to come pm us if you ever want to play us in any server you want :P If you're gonna blame your ping.... i just don't buy it :/ Whatever... the decision is made and if i was in your shoes i would probably be really upset about it... i don't mean to start drama here but if you're going to blame someone don't blame blight blame ESWC.

They're not saying that you don't deserve to go or that their team is better then yours or more deserving. What they're saying is that a team shouldn't be chosen only because of their sponsors but because of past achievements. That's what the old ESWC organization use to do and i believe everyone expected this year to be the same. Sadly it seems like they went for the big "names" (if you can consider Blight Gaming that) instead of picking team with experience and/or teams that attended (and won) multiple ESWCs before. I don't believe anyone thinks, or expressed that Blight was worst or better then Burntpink, we just said that looking at facts, on paper, burntpink, with what they've accomplished as a team, we're more deserving then Blight Gaming. PS: GO HAVE FUN IN PARIS CATH (even if Binna won't be there). I'm sure you guys will do good =)And dont let d1m go to the hospital like last time..

I never said you guys were bad at all, that was not my intention. I said that it's not fair to say we're terrible when we have to put up with 75 ping as an average as a team. You girls are able to play with 25 ping average as a team because you're playing in your own conference. I'm not here to disrespect, I'm not here to say you don't deserve it. I'm just here to say that guy is an idiot for saying we're terrible. P.S :P I'll be ready for a NorCal scrim anytime hahaha. ^^ <3

i don't think aymei and i were trying to blame you guys, trying to say we "deserve" the invite more or that we're better than you. we just thought with our past achievements we had a bit of an edge over you guys for the invite and since that wasn't the case, it seems like to us, that your sponsor was one of the determining factors. and that's what i think most of the people that have said something have a problem with, because they think your sponsor is a fraud. speaking for myself though i'm not bitter at all towards you guys, whether you got invited because of your sponsor or not i know you're a good team and deserve the invite just as much as we do. so congrats to you all and good luck.

you mentioned cath was the only one with international exp..dim has international exp too and i think LB too :o not trying to take sides here but from what i've seen blight ladies have been working really hard to get this spot and practicing countless hours and pretty much storming through esea open so eswc blessed them with an opportunity and nvited them. but i honestly wished burntpink also got invited, i know you guys are a good team with lots of lan/online exp and it would be nice to see 2 north american teams there. and you guys shouldn't be so hostile towards each other, you both are upcoming top female teams and if you both support each other who knows one day you both might be the best teams in the world! :)

yea both d1m and cath do, but Ashley and Mel in BP won 1 eswc each and jess attended like 3.. so bp > Blight in terms of past achievements/experience.

as far as i knew dim had only played in an exhibition of some sort in south africa (PLuGG Challenge Event?), and i was told lb hasn't been to an international female tournament, which was really what i was referring to when i said "international exp". and if i am wrong, then my bad this is just what i had previously thought.

Blight does have a good lineup, and some players I really respect... however, bp does have players that have internationally placed well (mel, jess, ashley). Mel and Ashley have even finished first, and they have two eager and dedicated players in balybeck/aymei. I do think Blight is a talented team and have stuck together for awhile, so this is in no way a rant against them.. It would just be nice to see possibly both teams at the event, due to the lack of female teams around the world.. especially when we have these two American teams who consistently practice and work toward a huge event like this. I say bring bp and Blight to the event...but what do I know, I've only been playing this game for about 8 years.

d1m has been in south africa with me(PMS) with missharvey and potter who are in SK. With PMS we also went to ETS montreal in 09 and to x3o in 09 too if i'm not mistaken. LB23 has been pretty active on the scene aswell going to as many local lans as she can and placing top 5 at ETS montreal* (if i'm not mistaking again) All those achievements are from 08-09-2010

Everybody seems to forget here that the main reason why the organisation was a big factor in the female invited teams was that the tournament is only a few weeks away and that eswc couldnt afford to have a team not attend the event at the very last minute. I am sure they took into consideration the achievements of all the teams but the money to go was prolly also a big deal. (The relyability of the organisation is another story). As ESWC mentionned in a press communique, everything was very last minute this year and they werent able to do all that they wanted and shoulda done. In my opinion, Burntpink isnt the only team that shoulda been on the list _WITH_ the others. The DefiniteSanctity girls from Taiwan (eswc 2006, undefeated in their part of the world, enough cash to attend), the alternate girls (awesome play at the last arbalet cup), firegamers ladies (famous Nath and other eswc contenders), all the other countries that didn't have a chance to attend that event (australia, poland, portugal...) and all this due to the lack of SPOTS available or qualification rounds. But i believe this problem can also be true for all the games' invitations... And as ashley said it herself, Blight deserves this spot as much as anybody else on the invite list. They are working very hard at the moment to prove they can also be number 1 in North America and #1 in the world. I just wish that every other deserving team was also able to attend the event. But I also wish World Peace ^.^v

Rofl...watched Blight Ladies last night to see if they were any good...what an immature and whinny bunch of gamers they are. Their match comm is a pretty hilarious read to here, esportsea.com/index.php?s=stats&d=match&.. #16 on. SK.jso even puts in her two cents at post #42. sad to see ESWC invite such poor sports to such a respected event... that and d1m/cAth are the only decent ones on the team...the other three girls are going to lan suck (and whine about lag prob)

why does all this even concerns you? why are you trying to bring up the drama when it's clearly not appropriate? have you never had a bad match in your "cs career" ? We are a brand new team and working hard to prove what we've got. So really i don't know why this even concerns you.

The management of Antwerp Aces wishes Kaos all the success for the upcomming ESWC. Ofcourse our players are dissapointed with not getting the invitation and furthermore we dont agree how some of our players reacted on this issue! But now that everyone has regain their senses we want to wish our Dutch friends from Kaos the best of luck and we are hoping with the rest of the Benelux community on a good result! Go and kick some ass Kaos!!!!
