Antwerp Aces removed from EAS

Antwerp Aces have been removed from the ESL Amateur Series after claiming too many penalty points.

The Belgian team has exceeded maximum penalty points allowed, after scoring six major and ten minors. Their fate was decided today, as the players did still not have premium accounts over a five-matches-span, leading to five major penalty points.

Because of this, Antwerp Aces will not be able to secure access to the EPS season five. The Belgians will have to venture into the next EAS season, and try to advance to the first division.

Antwerp Aces is however not the only team hailing from Benelux which has been removed. Netherland-based Shadows were today demoted from the ESL Pro Series league, down to the ESL Amateur Series. The last year's EPS winners have exceeded the total allowed penalty points line of 35%.

[09.06.2010]

Following the incident of Antwerp Aces removal from the ESL Amateur Series, team manager Sam Janssens has issued a formal explanation to bescene.net.

He urges that the penalty points which Antwerp Aces received was rightfully given, and that the Electronic Sports League is not to blame, as many fans and people have uttered on diverse websites. Janssens states that Antwerp Aces did not purchase premium accounts, as several members were in a hefty period followed by exams and school projects.

Janssens furthermore points out that both Antwerp Aces and the ESL have the same goal in common; to bring gaming in a positive light, clearly hinting to the negative comments the ESL has received.

had to play with 2-3 mixers each match because of exams. + it wasn't really worth paying premium for 10 different people for an amateur league

That is Benelux my friend a bunch of complete idiots in 1 area. We shadows got kicked from the EPS because we had 'to much' pp's but i already spoke to an admin of ESL benelux and he said it's okay just don't get more pp's then that so we didn't we played KaoS our last match and won that one and we qualified to EPS finals. We wanted to capture our second EPS title because we also won the EPS 3 Finals. And now Benelux and their organisation just kicked the champions out of EPS how's that ? That is how it goes at us that's why the Belgium's and the Netherland will never grow in Counter-strike because these admins have a black pillow right before their face like they are stupid or something. If they wanted Benelux to grow they had set up a main team list that doesn't have to qualify for the EPS Like this. 1 Shadows 2 Antwerp Aces 3 Synergy 4 KaoS And the rest of the teams qualify! But that's me ? Who am i? I just got kicked out of EPS for 1 Penalty point. :D:D:D

I'd be interested in knowing what exactly is the reasoning behind that rule, seen that in the ESL rulebook a few times but for example in the UK EAS that rule was not enforced in any way. If anyone can shed some light on that I'd be very thankful :D

I believe the prizemoney is standing at 1000 euro's so they are actually playing for something. And there is a list of rules, if everyone would read it there will be less problems. Also if they think that they earn to play in a certain league, their organisation must make sure everything has been taken care of. If not, than they do not have any reason to complain about anything... Shadows claim to be punched in the back, but if you have played season 2 and 3 you certainly must know what's going on and reaching over the 35%(or something) is ridicilous.

10 euro for 3 months. Lol. And you walk with sweaters with logo's of Intel, Gigabyte and whatever printed on it. If you have exams, then don't play EAS at all. There are ppl who are paying for their premium because its just a rule you need to follow.
