k1ck without fox at ESWC

k1ck eSports Club have announced they will have to do without star player Ricardo "fox" Pacheco at the ESWC World Finals.

The Portuguese ace, k1ck's most experienced player in international events, has been ruled out of the entire competition as personal problems will prevent him from flying to France.

He will be replaced by Joel "gax" Meira, who played an instrumental role in Paranoids' third-place finish at the ESWC qualifier in Lisbon last weekend.

fox: a no show at ESWC

The change will come as a major blow to k1ck, who will now have less than a week to prepare for the competition in Paris.

"fox's grandmother just had surgery, and he is the only one that can take care of her now," k1ck captain Helder "coachi" Sancho told HLTV.org. "gax is a talented player, he has been doing really well lately so we decided he should be the one going with us.

"We had really high goals for this competion, we wanted to place among the top teams and now with only six days to practice with a different line up and without a player that could make the difference like fox we feel really bad. We will just try to do our best with what we have."

k1ck have qualified for the ESWC world finals, which will take place from July 1-4 at Disneyland Paris, after a 2-0 beating of exotic island in the final.

The Portuguese side will attend the ESWC with:

Rui "SHOUW" Reis
Christopher "mUttt" Fernandes
Joel "gax" Meira

Because people don't use Twitter or Facebook exclusively for HLTV.org. Twitter and Facebook constantly have updates depending on how active you use the sites / how many people you follow. What I'm saying is, on average I think most people spend more time on Twitter/Facebook per day than on this site so if you see the news that are posted here posted there you can come here and don't have to check every 5 minutes just to see that nothing has been posted.

dude, thats quite a psicology there... :) btw, im studying for psicology exam right now, educational psicology :/ and i do know that expectations influence our behavior (which in portuguese is called pigmaleao effect), but taking this into gax's case, i dont think reading people here saying "sad" or whatever, is going to influence him at all, cause he knows fox's worth and influence in kick team and pt scene.. i think he should thank to be choosen as fox replace, and he got to know that.. (never heard of gax before though ;DD, but he has my unconditional support nevertheless) so, people shouldnt get their hopes to high, thats just gonna lead to disappointment..
