LCSL pull out of ESWC - Report

Lithuanian team LCSL have reportedly been ruled out of the ESWC world finals.

According to a report in Skillz.lv, the Baltic ESWC organiser has told LCSL it will be unable to pay for their expenses to Paris, which has made the team cancel their attendance.

LCSL had been assured of a spot at the ESWC finals after coming out on top of the Baltic qualifier with a 2-0 win over canei-gaming.

The Lithuanian team had even undergone changes to their roster for this tournament, with Tomas "Dag" Kreipavičius filling the boots of Ignas "phano" Sturonas.

This represents the second blow in the Baltic region in the space of a month, after the GameGune organisation alerted to the fact that a fake qualifier was being organised there.

I think the sporsonrs are not the same to the regional qualifiers, anyway, I don't know how a orga like ESWC let people make qualifiers under ESWC name without verifing they are able to send the team.

The organizer of the qualifier is the manager and sponsor of LCSL. They decided not to attend ESWC would be best for them. Maybe a good decision, because even I (a big optimist) don't see them winning a single game with this field of teams.

Still I understand their decision cuz if you look at the list, you see that the only team that LSCL would be able to beat are Kaos & eu4ria, the other ones are just not at the same level so it would have been kind of a waste of money

Well they should beat dignitas, k1ck, teg and also delta probably, but LCSL wouldn't get them in same group. They could surprise against others, but I'm sure the team didin't practice enough to do that. Last year they used to beat kerchnet, DTS, A-gaming, with players from current Ping and Navi, so never say never :) P.S. Reply was to #56 :D

skillz.lv is a little bit wrong :p it's not the money isue, as a owner of lcsl said in official estars.lt site. (Skeptikams tai ne piniginis klausimas) - For sceptics it's not the money isue. Unfortunetly he didn't name the real reason.. He just apologyed for all lcsl fans, and promised that lcsl in future will attend lots of world class torneys.

awful fucking qualifier sponsors and eswc shud make sure before hand that them sponsors are 100% willing and will be able to fund the winning team. Its the teams chance to prove that they cud do it, they qualified, fuck eswc.

It's not like they would make an impact on the top placings.. just been realistic don't be like they could have an outside chance, they had no chance.. just a team needed to fillin the weak positions so players can get mean stats!

people, do not think that lithuanian team is that poor so they cant afford a tourney to parris.. its not the problem guys. LCSL manager said it is NOT a money issue. in my opinion, manager doesnt want to let lscl to ESWC because he thinks and as it is the team is not good enough to challange teams like fnatic sk or na`vi so basically if they would go they'd just loose and the team would get underrated and will disappoint the fans..

Losing is a part of the game, if you don't lose, you won't improve. If it were a matter of money, they shouldn't have held the event in the first place. As posted somewhere in the topic, the manager of the team decided it was better that they don't attend because they're afraid of losing, not because of a lack of funds.

I hate these organizers of ESWC qualifiers....first holding a number of qualifiers for which teams prepare intensively day and night....and then say that we are unable to support.... Then wtf you were holding the qualifier for? immediate, easy profit? ESWC should choose better...

MIRAA you should write about money that he didnt payed to the other teams. As far as i know he payed only to canei and team hox. seneliz from the start of the qualy didnt have money, and he didn tell even to his team that he has only a slot for eswc, and right now of that shitty situation we can get a BAN from eswc.. Really feel sorry for lcsl ;/ they deserved to attend the ESWC finals..

This is a great example why the gaming team's managements should be excluded from the rights to organize this kind of events. There can be NO excuse for not sending the winning team to the finals. Even if the event ends in a loss, the organizers are still responsible of fullfilling the promise to the winning team. It's an ethical issue - i am so happy that another team didn't win, because it seams that LCSL just had major loss in organizing the event and would not have been able to pay for the winners roundtrip aswell as the franchise to ESWC. To Seneliz: from previous Baltics DH.se qualifier Your organization still owes money to the Estonian Organization.
