ESWC group stage #1 over

The first group stage at the ESWC world finals has come to a conclusion, and a total of 16 teams will enter the next phase.

The first playing day of the 2010 ESWC finals is now officially behind us, as all of the matches have been played out. The winners and runners-up from each group will now move on to a second group stage, out of which the eight quarter-finalists will be found.

In Groups A and B, only two teams stood out in each group: SK and Burning in A, and Frag eXecutors and H2k Gaming in B. In the match between SK and Burning, the Frenchmen were very close to winning, but an impressive second half from the Swedens secured them the full three points. In the other group, the biggest surprise came in the form of H2k finishing on top of the group after beating FX in a very interesting encounter.

In a two-team group, Na'Vi entertained compLexity in a close match as the Ukrainian side were forced to work hard to secure winning honours. With PinG using a stand-in for the tournament, it was up to Fair Frag and Evil Geniuses to contest the top spot of the group, and it went the French team's way after a 17-13 victory over the Americans.

The last group was topped by mousesports, who beat Playzone and OSLF.dk, with the Finnish side coming out on top of the Scandinavian duel with a score of 21-9.

burning swap rara for mSx/harts/MaT or someone and its french superteam:D go EG but there are so many of my favorite player its hard not to root for every team :p

It's not only rara the problem, they could have won against SK, they were like 10/5 on nuke on Ct side and they screw everything on T side :/

swap rara + yoshi with mSx + MaT for the best possible french team that could actually be one of the best in the world imo

Well, I had coefficient 8232 and I got failed on 2 from 19 bets - Playzone vsOSLF.dk (I chose OSLF) and mousesports vs OSLF (I chose OSLF) :(

IF ONLY the 2nd group stage was being played BO3...i mean most of the matches coming up could easily be a Final game in another event :)

Each would have to play between 6 and 9 maps in one day. Do you imagine how many strats are needed ? and How tiring it is when you have to play a 4 days tournament?

well they played 1/2/3 maps today, and after the second group stage they will have to play 2 BO3's saturday (1/4 and 1/2), and only one Sunday (that's for the 4 team which will reach semi-finals). i really don't think this is too much to handle for them :)

i think you should put a bonus on dreamteam when a team win a match, cause sometimes a player decrease on dreamteam but on the other hand he won all his match :s ...

I think it's gonna be - Sweden vs. mtw, just dunno what Swedish team its gonna be though, im gonna still be proud if Denmark take this cuz im 15 % danish :D. I like EG too, Go SK, fnatic, h2k, mtw and EG! ps. (specially GO SK, win that game!)
