nak: "This was the right decision"

We sat down with FireGamers star Renato "nak" Nakano and discussed with him his side's progression to the quarter-final stage.

The Brazilian team are through to the playoffs at the ESWC finals after the tournament admins had initially stated they would have to play overtime against H2k Gaming after beating Mojawi Gaming 29-1 due to the Frenchmen leaving the server half way through the game.

Nakano is in full support of the admins' final ruling and believes it to be the only call that could have been made.

"Finally, the right decision, the first one was not fair, because even with the rounds after they left their computers, it would make no difference, because 16-1 was enough for us to qualify, so I think this is the right decision," he told HLTV.org.

"If the rounds they did not play made a difference in the final score, that is fine, but they did not, so we would have won anyway."

FireGamers took a beating in their opening match of the second group stage, losing to SK Gaming 22-8, and Nakano had words of praise for the Swedes' display.

"We were not expecting a result like this, but they were really closed as CT, there was no way for us to get in, they were really closed and played very well," Nakano added.

Nakano added that he feels his team, who will take on mTw in the quarter-finals, should not be written off as he looks to lift his second ESWC title.

"Right now we are very confident, in the first stage we got fnatic, we almost beat them, in the second stage we started a bit bad against SK, but we played well, even against SK we played well, we have fixed some mistakes now.

"Now everything will start over, it will all start from scratch and we will go all over them," Nakano concluded.

You can follow all of HLTV.org's coverage of the ESWC finals here.

I havent really cared about the brazilian scene since cogu stepped down, no offense, but they havent really showed anything since. But who knows, maybe they will this time, they definitely got a couple of top players. - though I doubt they can beat mtw, but hopefully they can keep up.

it was the right decision , but it should been the first decision because when the ESWC Staff told the first decision it give hope to h2k but then they removed their hope . That's unfair in that hope point but it's was the right decision . GO GO FG

its BO3(our MD3), so obviously there isnt only dust2 to play. even dust2 can support FG, i think mTw will win by 2-0 (16-5),(16-6). ps: lets hope for Germany 2 - 1 Argentina tomorrow.

Yep.Germany saved the weekend winning Argentina tomorrow, gogo guys. No doubt 'cogu' was the best Brazilian in CS 1.6. Now he has passed and we have to support the new,but Fallen is the better sniper from Brazil today. GO FG. GO BRAZIL. GO GERMANY Sugira uma tradução melhor

Yep, Germany will save the weekend winning Argentina tomorrow, gogo guys. No doubt 'cogu' was (for the most of us he still) the best Brazilian in CS 1.6. But he doesnt play anymore and we have to support the new guys, nowadays fallen is one of them and he's the best sniper from Brazil. GO FG. GO BRAZIL. GO GERMANY

Is a fact that the Germans have fear, but a brazilian "cheering" (i don't know how to say the appropiate word) for Germany is so low, at least you won't have to face us in the finals and see how Messi and Maradona "hold on" the cup ;) and blablabla, Argentina > Brazil-Germany :) And unlikely for you, is the true :D

its very soon to say that argentina > other teams, since u've lost all the lately matches to brazil. And like miller said "Now Maradona knows me and i'll show him what I can do." this was an answer for Maradona act when germany had a friendly match with argentina and miller comes to talk with maradona and maradona tought that miller was one of the "ball boys" of the match and ignored him totally.

Muller, Podolski, Schweinsteiger, Lahm ... They are just a band of clowns, showmans. The only good is Özil. And finishing, FeL1Pe: like Maradona say "LA TENÉS ADENTRO (you have it inside)" hahaha

Obviusly you are not informed, but the people here really trust in Maradona and the entire team, so stfu. And we don't have fear because we have BY FAR the best lineup of the moment. Germans and people like you have fear, and it's a fact. Bye troll.

coz he was thiking that he was talking to the admins(they are very smart and wanted to disqualify the french guys forcing a match between fg x h2k, altough that fg already made 19x1 over the frenches and the last round wasnt needed, but still no explation to them leave the match). oh yea, i was ironic. so?

I think ESWC rulebook needs a rule for this type of situations. Making rules after the occurrence may cause several drawbacks, and the justice be questionable (if the decision was influenced or not).

Come on Firegamers, show me the talent of the southamerican spirit. This is not football /futbol/ this is Counter Strike and I am very happy with Firegamers because they are southamericans... I do not care if they are brazilians... a lot of players of CS of Argentina are with you... i prefeer Brazil against another country... But i do not understand this kids that are so annoying... this is not an Argentina vs. Brasil... come on dudes...
