fnatic have announced they have parted company with Björn "threat" Pers.

The decision comes just days after fnatic's disappointing quarter-final exit at the ESWC finals following a 2-0 defeat to Natus Vincere.

Pers joined fnatic in January on a permanent basis after helping the team win the World Esports Masters at the end of 2009 while acting as a stand-in.

He also played an important role in the team during the first half of 2010 as fnatic won Arbalet Cup Europe and placed second at the Extreme Masters Global Finals, but the poor displays in Paris ended up taking its toll on their line-up.

"Today we are parting ways with Björn 'threat' Pers. Our results lately have been a bit questionable and our play in-game hasn't been what it once was," Harley "dsn" Örwall told fnatic's website.

"We felt we needed a change to keep the team strong, fresh and motivated for the upcoming tournaments. We would like to wish Björn the best of luck and thank him for his time as a friend, teammate and player in FnaticMSI."

Pers no longer a fnatic member

This leaves fnatic with a four-man roster just one week before GameGune, with reports in Sweden indicating the team are planning a move for ex-MYM star Marcus "Delpan" Larsson.

I think they will recruit either Delpan or moddii. Me and my friend discussed who they would recruit and we come to the conclution that it probably would be moddii because he is kinda' good with the AWP but he doesn´t have the same skills with rifles as moddii. I expect SK-Gaming to kick RobbaN and walle and recruit zet and Delpan/moddii (depends on who recruits who first). Well thats my opinion kub3N

I'm sorry, but that is just a retarded post. Why would SK kick anyone when things are finally going their way? And Delpan isn't "kinda" good with the AWP, he is arguably the second best AWPer in the world, second only to markeloff, and that says a lot. Also, I'm not sure I agree on moddii being a better rifler, 'cause Delpan is great with rifles as well.

dust train and also inferno. A 2 AWP defense on inferno is quite deadly, as one man like Delpan could cover the banana by it's own, leaving 4 in big pit. Dsn as an awper on mid, and you have that covered two, it means that house and balcony will be defended by 3 man, that's thight for other teams. On train a 2 AWP defense is killer, and on dust, well dust2 is delpan's map, so he'll do good on it.

I still consider frod one of the most amazing awp'ers. He's very consistant and his playstyle is just amazing. On topic: I actually hope delpan won't join, he's a great player but i actually think a player like manne, Xizt or even dennis would make a better fit.

Threat is a great player, but unfortunately somewhat inconsistent. Since the word around the campfire is that Delpan is gonna take his place, I have to admit that it seems weird to me, it doesn't make sense unless Harley gives up awping.

Of course there is no such rule, just common sense, playing two awps is somewhat risky as you can lose a round much more easily. Dsn is great with rifles I agree, but I'm still not convinced about Delpan.. his awp is uncanny, but not sure about rifles, guess fnatic guys have better insight into that. Still best of luck to him if he joins fnatic, from an inet hero to the world's best.

No, they changed lineup in 2009 January after 2-3 years. ins and archi quited CS and gtr Gux joined. In 2009 August/September Gux left fnatic and they recruited threat.

It is the right move for fnatic this time, still, a bit too late ... just too harsh for threat personally. Fnatic have been always surprising us in the past. And if u guys think the best move is another good awp-er to join fnatic, then markelloff would fit in the spot perfectly xDDD IMHO, it would be Delpan (I love this guy) or pita ;)

imo the 2 best choises for fnatic : dsn is AWESOME with guns,so delpan in as main awp and dsn just guns,but this will turn around all their tactics and gameplay and they will need to find chemistry again because of role changes.. 2nd and best choise is moddi,good sick gunner that will fit for threat shoes ,this can only make them play better and find chemistry faster...gl to them its a hard choise imo...

They want to find back the good form and chemistry they had with Gux. Gux compared to Threat was more like a very skilled player they used to make the entry frags and hold some places by his own. I think the best choice would be MODDII cause he's got a similar profile as he's very skilled and can do the job easily. The thing is I'm not sure moddii can feat with fnatic game as he looks a bit "savage" if you get it. Delpan would also be a good choice but it would be stupid not to use his awp skill as he is with markeloff the best specialist. Dsn can awp and it doesn't look like fantic likes to play too much with awp except in some occasions. So we'll see... Only fnatic players can tell.

bear in mind that there aren't as many places in poland where you could shop for players as in sweden. so if pasha were to be kicked out who would fx pick up as a replacement? pretty sure that nobody is leaving delta because they're all so close and shit and pgs just added luq so i don't think anybody would leave the team at the moment just to join fx.

I don't think it's too fair to pin their failure lately on threat, that's like Fx's decision to replace LUq when they started losing...as you can see it's done Fx no good. Threat actually did pretty well in my opinion but maybe there was a chemistry problem that I couldn't see as a spectator, who knows... On a side note, it'd be awesome if blomst4r came back out of nowhere and joined, he was always my fav player when he played :D

I honestly would rather see them pick up moddii or BARBARR.. Having 2 AWPers at the same time would cause a lot of problems with fnatic's money system. Not really. I've watched Pov demos of mooddi where he whines, and he's teammates tell him to stop and keep playing. Thus, he harrasses other players during matches, which all is proven by pov demos where you can actually SEE him do so. MYM has said so, Playzone has said so, and there's a reason why a such skilled player only playes for semi-teams and the reason is that he's a whiny little kid. Your opinion is soley based on experiences of 4, maybe 8 individuals and yourself who hasn't had any expereince with him whatsoever. It's enough. Moddii is a little whiny kid, and not everyone whines and talks like he do. He's one of those guys that doesn't deserve to be good, cause everyone else deserve to own him. fnatic knows that moddii is such a little bitch that they'll for sure won't take him in, and I don't think a single top team will ever do. And for a guy who doesn't know you, I must say that you come very strong of as a fanboy, and i'm only making accucations of what i've seen and learned, and I've learned that mostly of his teammates picture him the same way as I picture him, and therefore I name him: "The Wrecker of Teams."

Delpan =DDD is one of the smartest player out there and he needs to be in a big team because thats where he belongs. Doesnt matter if he uses rifle or sniper he is still one of the best. But I prefer to see him with awp. :)

i dont understand what everyone is jabbering around about. "they dont need 2 awpers" BLA BLA BLA! if you haven't noticed, dsn isnt awping quite as much as he used to. he also isnt as good with it as he used to be. and third of all, you've been able to see both f0rest and GeT_RiGhT use awp on occasion, so why wouldnt Delpan fit into the team? personally i think that has been one of few weaknesses in a team like fnatic. they really havent had a REALLY good awper who's not just amazing on occasion but can manage to remain stable and hit his shots time after time in the team for a long, long time. dsn can be amazing at times but to me he has never seemed to be able to keep that up over a long streak of matches/tourneys like for example Sunde, cogu or even markeloff. and that is just what i think fnatic need.

oh so moddi that is pure rifle when fnatic have GeT_RiGhT and f0rest?? if Delpan joins f0rest no longer will have to play as second awp, for exemple on de_train..dsn lately hasnt been that strong with awp, but he is pretty good with rifles also, so is Delpan, but in this case Delpan will probably become main awp, and will play on T side as AWP something that is been lacking on fnatic..and dsn doesnt usually plays awp on T, except for train..

delpan would be a good choice, but this would change fnatic tactical gaming a little bit. i mean, they would have 2 awper's like other giant teams (perfect example: Na'Vi with starix and markeloff), and stop with 2009 strats (gux, forest and GR as fragger/sprayer and dsn as main awper)! in many ocasiations na'vi uses starix and markeloff awp's, giving more stablity for ceh9 and edward to take frags out of there bombsits positions. So with delpan's entrance, dsn would maybe change to a 'second' awper, and provide fnatic strats with 2 awp's! its incontestable that dsn is a very hard fragger with ak/colt, but he stills beeing fundamental for fnatic's tactical (cauz they realy need dsn's great performaces with his awp in a couple of situations. it should be impossible for a team to win championships without a great awper. they are fudamental for every team)! i guess they tried a very tactical and inteligent player, but his skill wasnt enough to replace Gux wonder frags! for me threat has the same characteristics as FYRR73, xizt or zet, so i think they will not try again a player like that! gut gl fnatic, gl threat! :)

I wonder if Delpan will be the best choice for fnatic and I'm also wondering if they have made a thorough analysis of current available top players in Sweden. If they have, manne has to be an option. Sadly I believe they only tried Delpan and no one else. Kind of the same mistake they did with THREAT. They should pick out a handful of potential players and then try them all! I guess time (1 week to next event) is against them though.

-zet would the the best option, he is very experienced and plays very very well. -if you want a new player with freshness and lots of aim pick Xizt. -Delpan is so overrated it almost hurts.
