GameGune group draw

The group draw for GameGune 2010 has been made, and a total of 28 teams have known their fate in the competition.

Natus Vincere, the top seeded team of the event, will have to fend off the threats of British side Dignitas, French squad D4 Gaming, and a Spanish team from the EUSKAL LAN party.

fnatic, who will attend the event with their new line-up, featuring Rasmus "GuX" Stahl, will battle prodigy-es, Antwerp Aces and duellum.

mousesports, who will travel to Bilbao with a stand-in as Manuel "Tixo" Makohl will not be in attendance, will meet x6tence, Dark Passage and Defining Stars, while Frag eXecutors are set to lock horns with mythiX, HEADSHOTBG and 4FRAGS.

CnB-Gaming, the only non-European team in the event, will battle French EPS champions aAa and Portuguese duo Revolution Games and x-function.

GameGune 2010 will see the group winners and runners-up entering a double-elimination phase, which will be played in a best-of-one mode.

Yes, but the point with double elimination is that you will get a second chance, if you lose a match. It's different from tournament to tournament, but thats just the way it is. If it is random, it is just because teams are not consistent enough and therefore deserve to lose a map, because they are not prepared.

Yeah yeah I know what DE is all about - I played CoD and there was no other system used there :) But no matter, DE or SE, still BO1 is random and I can understand playing it in group stage, but not in playoffs. It also depends whether teams decide a map or it is set to play for all matches in the round. You know if there are two teams - A plays better on 4 maps, B on 1 and B wins because they had to play Bs best map, it's just totally unfair.

Thats where we disagree. I don't see anything unfair in team A winning their best map, that just means that team B haven't prepared enough. Wasn't trying to lecture you about DE and SE, just trying to state my point; that teams need to be prepared for all maps ;)

it's a gess, even thought that the last time that everybody saw "RG" or SD playing, was a long time ago so.. i'm not seeing them beating even x-function.. and don't talk crap hldr and bife are 2 well known players in portugal and we can say that they have more awards/experience if it was last year 2009 you wouldn't say that. i'm just saying... we will see i'm not cheering for anyone in special so.. may the best team win

I disagree, FairFrag for me is better than BURNING, players like HaRtS and Iorek have much more experiences for internationals events. They are able to do very good results

Wish there was a north american team attending, oh well, still looks like it'll be a sick tournament. I'm hoping for some upsets as a lot of the teams here are relatively unknown (compared to SK, fnatic, na'vi, etc.) and it'd be good to see them play well against the best.

i know but blizzard is insane, dont know about d0maz though but kapio imo was second best after starix in arbalet. so i think they will do heavy dmg.

ya d0maz is really good but i wouldn't bet so much on Blizzard nowadays since he doesn't play CS active anymore. don't know maybe he'll surprise us (at least me :D). finally i think mouz'll at most reach the semis, depends on the quality of their opponents but if they are going further is just a question the time can tell ;)
