SK cancel EM Shanghai attendance
The Electronic Sports League has announced that SK Gaming will not attend the Extreme Masters Global Challenge in Shanghai.
This marks the second dropout for the event in the space of days after Evil Geniuses turned down the opportunity to compete at the tournament, which will take place from July 29 to August 1.
SK Gaming have not yet commented on the motive behind this decision, but HLTV.org can report that the Swedish giants did not wish to attend the event with a stand-in.
The ESWC runners-up are still looking for a new permanent player following the departure of Rasmus "GuX" Stahl to fnatic earlier this month.
SK added Andreas "moddii" Fridh for Arbalet Cup Dallas and will use him for the WCG Nordic finals, but it looks like they are not quite ready yet.
Meanwhile, the ESL has confirmed that SK and Evil Geniuses will be replaced by 9ez and TyLoo.raw, respectively, making it the following groups:
