H2k to release Begrip players for free

H2k Gaming have informed HLTV.org that they will release their three contracted players which have currently found their new home at Begrip as a nice gesture.

H2k Gaming had yesterday issued a press release regarding the fuss which has surrounded their Counter-Strike team, and which stated that eight players were still bound to their contracts.

Later on the following day, Begrip Gaming announced their newest team which is set to compete at the ASUS Summer event and the upcoming EPS Nordic season. The team currently boasts three contracted H2k players, Danny "pop" Oldenburg, Samuel "Zyppe" Martinsson and Markus "pronax" Wallsten.

However, H2k Gaming have now told HLTV.org that the three above-mentioned players will be released for free as a nice gesture to Begrip, following that the players contact H2k CEO Rudy van der Reest to sort out the formalities.

Begrip Gaming now have:

Faruk "pita" Pita
Jonathan "lidde" Lidgren
Danny "pop" Oldenburg (currently contracted to H2k)
Markus "pronax" Wallsten (currently contracted to H2k)
Samuel "Zyppe" Martinsson (currently contracted to H2k)

Marcus "zet" Sundström (EPS backup)

Agreed! I thought i was the only one who was thinking that. If pop and lidde got kicked out and added Delpan and completely new Swedish talent, the players would be more motivated and also it would be more entertaining for the spectators eye.

how can anyone dream about esports reaching a professional level and so on when there are constant breaches of contract. why sign a contract if you're not willing to honour it? why release a statement stating your position if you will change it shortly after? esports is such a pipe dream, it's full of youngsters with no notion of business or professionalism and amateurs. anyways, good luck.

so what those inactive h2k players shouldnt be allowed to compete while beeing undet contract?

if they are INACTIVE they shouldn't be competing for anyone other than the team that has their CONTRACT. if they want to compete for someone else they sould ask their current contract holders, if the company doesn't agree to do so IT'S THEIR RIGHT not to.

than they aren't inactive, they are sidelined or subs. what i understand from "inactive" is that the player decided not to play the game on his own terms. but even if it's the team's choice, like in other any sport, there are starting players and there are subs. if your contract doesn't explicity say that you will be starting 5 you will have to deal with it. you signed it, you had to read. i'm not saying only players breach contracts, both do, both are to blame. if players can't honour contracts or don't trust organizations, then don't sign them, as simply as that.

Exactly, for esports to take off this will need to be a business like professional basketball, soccer, football, baseball, hockey, and so on. There will need be contracts and repercussion for breaking them. It's a joke cause even in a small business breaking a contract is serious business.

lidde is the young talent on this team, but definetely not the one to be the madfragger, he is more like an all-around player. At least, rudy is showing some fair play there. Who is gonna be the iGL, pronax or Zyppe? :O

Why would you keep players on contracts anyway if you have no intention of playing them? Unless they did something to fuck over the team originally then there's no need for it.
