EG wipe out Chinese hope

Evil Geniuses find themselves in the Grand Final against fnatic, as they put out the Chinese hope TyLoo 2-1 in maps.

Played on the stage at MSI BEAT IT, TyLoo got the better start on first map de_inferno. The CT side fitted the Chinese team very well and it was noticeable as they kept their momentum high on stage with cheers and salutes. EG did however fire back, meaning TyLoo only had a three-round lead at half-time, at the score 9-6. With EG switching to CT, the momentum changed as the American set the pace in the second half. Towards the end it became a neck-and-neck affair, ultimately with EG coming out on top, winning 16-13.

On the second map, de_nuke, EG were once again TyLoo superior, starting on the weaker Terrorists side, seeing the American team secure a stunning 11-4 lead before switching sides. TyLoo seemed like they had already realized gameover, but after a quick talk they kicked back, starting out by winning the pistol round as Terrorists. It should take EG seven rounds, before they got their first round as CT, putting the score at 12-12. Little did it help EG, as TyLoo denied them in taking any additional rounds, meaning a 16-12 victory for the Chinese team, pushing the match to a third and final map.

Third and all-deciding map de_tuscan, saw TyLoo starting out the better, as they took the initial rounds as CT. EG then struck back, taking three in a row to put the game at a tied score with three rounds for both teams. EG managed to build up a two-round lead, with the score 5-3, before TyLoo sealed their first rounds since their 3-0 lead. Reaching half-time, EG were able to maintain a three-round lead, as the first half ended 9-6 in favour of the Americans. Second half was an intense battle in order to secure the final spot in the Grand Final, TyLoo managed to punish EG in some key rounds, which put the Americans in a difficult situation moneywise. In the end EG succeeded in claiming the spot in the Grand Final against fnatic, winning 16-13 and 2-1 overall.
