Old and new Millenium in WCG clash
Amongst other tournaments, this weekend also saw the WCG qualifier in France showcasing its very best teams, all of which have been fighting for a chance to represent national pride at the Grand Final in Los Angeles.
It all came down to the most experienced line-ups, a mixture of the old and new Millenium representatives, to decide who would be most adequate to represent France at the end of September, in USA. FACE2FACE!, formerly Millenium and more recently known to many as team Burning!, numbering Mahé "mahE" Martin, Christophe "SIXER" Xia, Rassen "Rara" Abdou, Engin "MAJ3R" Kupeli and Guillaume "Geno" Ntep, was the one who eventually closed the stakes at 2-0 to their advantage, awarding themselves the WCG spot for France.
Meanwhile, on the other side, their final rivals, Millenium, with Mathieu "R!Go" Bridet, Mickael "mSx" Cassisi, Jeremy "ioRek" Vuillermet, Michael "HaRts" Zanatta and Benjamin "drizzer" Charnet will have to settle with second spot for now and a chance for the WCG Grand Final next year.
The French WCG qualifier final kicked-off on inferno, with F2F! quickly bringing the score at 3-1 to their advantage, as Counter-Terrorists. Following the stormy match start, the situation levelled up, seeing both sides exchanging rounds. The half-time score was eventually closed at 9-6 to Millenium's advantage.
Switching sides, F2F! once again went in strong, gearing up a momentum which allowed them to close the situation at 9-2 as Terrorists, awarding themselves inferno with a 16-11 overall scoreline.
Engin "MAJ3R" Kupeli and his colleagues continued capitalizing on that as well on the second map, dust2, starting off as Counter-Terrorists. Millenium looked totally disorganized as their rivals kept racking up points. It was only the last few rounds which brought them a breath of fresh air, with the half-time scoreline being closed at 10-5 to F2F!'s advantage.
As Counter-Terrorists, Millenium sought a turn-around of the dispute, yet finishing in the lead with 9-6, just wasn't good enough. F2F! therefore awarded themselves second map as well, with 16-14, which meant they would be the ones representing France at the upcoming WCG 2010 Counter-Strike Grand Final, in Los Angeles.

Third place finishers, LDLC also seemed to perform relatively well. Steeve "Ozstrik3r" Flavigni's new team, formed around Mathieu "skelp" Onillon, Michel "mshz" Nguyen, Kevin "maverick" Kourane and Kevin "kUtA" Dang bowed down only in the semi-final, again tournament winners FACE2FACE!.
