Attendees list for DSRack #3 hacked

DSRack #3 organizers earlier today saw their website hacked, leaving registered teams erased.

The Danish event, announced with a stunning prize purse of €76,200 earlier this month, will gather several hot names to the nation's capital between 18-24 October. Since then, teams have been able to sign up on the organizers' website.

The list of participating teams was however today altered by some computer wiz with malicious intentions, leaving it completely erased.

"About an hour ago some script-kiddies found a hole in our event and event-signup controllers and were able to use the delete command without admin permissions, which leaves us with a rather blank page of participating teams at DSRack LAN #3", the website reads.

The organizers furthermore proclaim that the issue has been taken care of, and urge the team leaders to register their squads once again.

"Users, teams and everything else is as it were, so you - as teamleader - only have to login to your account, manage your teams and signup the team(s) again."

The event's website can be accessed by clicking here.

Saying lurk moar would imply that the shit happening on 4chan would somehow be related to hacking. Kids ddos'ing is not hacking my ignorant friend.

I used the expression as a general synonym of "getting your facts straight".In the beggining of computer era hackers was the term to describe people with huge knowledge of computers, using it in a good way eg. writing software, improving it etc. Whith the birth of the internet along came hackers that used their experience and skills in a good way, to earn financial benefits or just to do harm. These, separated and banish from the hacker community were called crackers. So, in general, hackers are the good guys, while crackers are the bad guys.

What is it with people trying to mess up everything connected to CS? Servers that host tournaments getting ddosed, websites getting cracked, public servers getting crashed by some new exploits. It's like if there was a man like anti-Arbalet or something, who hates CS and hires people to do these things.

Ddos'ing and exploiting flaws in a simple website like DSRacks is VERY basic stuff. These people are amateurs, so they'd never be able to do any actual hacking.
