Area51 acquire semphis
According to ESEANews.com, WCG Canada winners Area51 have been forced to exchange Garett "Grt" Bambrough for Kory "semphis" Friesen prior to the WCG Finals.
Due to Bambrough's situation which does not allow him to enter the United States without a waiver, Area51 have called upon Kory "semphis" Friesen to suffice.
Obtaining an official waiver on such short notice may prove to be very difficult, and highly unlikely. Bambrough did not want his team to miss out on other American events because of his position, a comment by Friesen reads.
The former Blight.ca member told ESEANews.com it feels good to be playing in an all-Canadian team again:
"It feels good to be playing in an all Canadian team again after my short stint in Ruins. Tomorrow we’re going to start going over maps and work me into the team. The past couple days we've just been pugging and it's really hot or cold because I don't know all of their tactics yet", Bambrough told ESEANews.com.
Also, practicing for WCG is really annoying because it just so happens to be fire week. We don't want to play that map at all but that’s all anyone is playing."
The Canadian team has furthermore been drawn in Group H along with the likes of WeMade FOX, Gameholics and PlayMore, and will be the squad's first appearance with their newest addition.
Area51 will boast the following lineup at WCG 2010:
Tyler "medic" James
Seth "ScorpioN" Nagelberg
Nicolas "Lalonde" Lalonde
Jonathan "n0swal" Lawson
Kory "semphis" Friesen
World Cyber Games 2010 will take place from September 30 through to October 3 at Los Angeles' Convention Center, an event you will be able to follow right here on HLTV.org.
