IEM QR1 reaches end

The first qualifying round for the Intel Extreme Masters European Championship has come to an end, and 18 teams have progress to the next round.

The winning teams will now enter the second qualifying round, where they will come up against stronger sides on paper.

eSrael provided one of the big surprises of the first round, when they moved past Crystal Gaming from Sweden 2-0, while DarkPassage fell short to RiseAgainst from Bulgaria.

In one of the most entertaining matches brought by the first round, k1ck successfully dealt with Dignitas 2-0, despite using Diogo "CYBERRRR" Mendonça as a stand-in for captain Helder "coachi" Santos.

The draw for the second qualifying round will pair the following 36 teams:

Indeed. Before the EPS Nordic Qual I thought they owned.. then they lost there.... then I was like ' ah they are still good ' and they lose to eSrael?! :(
