POV announce shutdown

Paragon of Virtue have announced they have decided to close the doors of the Counter-Strike squad.

The American team failed to impress at at the local WCG qualifier earlier this month, finishing in second place, but miles away of the top-placed side, Evil Geniuses.

POV were hoping to continue on an active level past the qualifier, at least until the IEM American Championship, but Jeff “hero” Mettetal's decision to step down as player made the other players rethink their plans.

"To us, Jeff isn't someone we were willing to replace. Not to mention the talent pool of free agents in America who are able to attend these two events is rather shallow, we felt it was in everyone's best interest to pursue other opportunities," Derek "dboorN" Boorn told eseanews.com.

Andrew "Irukandji" Timmerman is the only player to have so far agreed a move to another team, having linked up with PLP, who are mostly known for their Canadian players, Pedro "YaYooo" Morim and Armeen "a2z" Toussi.

The future of the remaining players remain very much subject to conjecture, but with the IEM American Championship just around the corner, chances are they will not be taking long to join other projects.

POV had the following squad:

lol no, there was POV before ex-coL, thus POV is an organization. but i guess organization might not be the proper term here, because organization might mean multiple games and idk if POV has other gay games. if not, then POV was their sponsor. trust me, these players dont play for free.

POV was the name they used as a team before going to coL. it's just a name that the same group used and went back to. don't try to say otherwise, you're 100% wrong, as any of them would say. they were not playing under a salary at POV.

actually they do play for free....rhys is right. The only SPONSORED teams that are actually paid salaries in american are coL and EG to the best of my knowledge....and for you to live in another country ant tell americans and candians that play ESEA regularly with these ppl is kind of ignorant dont ya think?

Oi love, a2z is the most player that this game has ever seen, that YaYooo character has one of the most AWP's since Ksharp, icy is equipped with a power rack and plexx is french. PLP lineup is pretty most.

personally no one wants to pick up hero or dboorn because of what they did to compLexity, sending them threats of retirement to their managers is childish just because they wanted evolution cut from the team the day after a event. EG.thoMz EG.evolution

i wouldnt wanna pick them up either dropya. dboorn and hero haven't done anything in a international match though but complain to management when they lose matches:( who said that stuff about dboorn and hero wanting to retire if he wasnt cut? it was evolution who straight out said it right?

stats man over here haha.... just kidding. the matches speak for themselves. EG's roster is perfectly fine IMO but when the time comes they should pick up thomz or evolution over anyone since they are the most skilled.

it's so lose for U.S. cs scene, but also very bad news for EG, now level between them and the rest of the scene is even bigger, which wont be good to practice, also ping problems doesnt let them practice so often with european teams :/

USA needs two great international teams. One of them is EG and the second one needs to be something with Irukandji. Maybe they could make a line-up like Irukandji , Xp3 , dboorN , thoMz something of these players.

Finally, dboorn was all over jeff's "junk" and would be his shadow 24/7. Those kids are nothing but drama and act like 12 year olds, they need to be split up. If jeff quits they all quit, if dboorn quits they all quit.

I was hoping loaded would be the new #2 team in the US but their esea season has been disappointing so far. Loaded needs to drop qaus and pick up one of these fee agents but it might not happen.

Don't ever try to act like what you're talking about ever again. There are no active/dedicated players to make a team with. It doesn't matter how dedicated or good I am until I've found such players to make a team with. And I am never the type of person to rush into a league. I would have my team practice at least a seasons worth off-client and off record before going into a league. On the side practicing SC2 in the meantime.

EG.DbooRN would be insane gfn storm frod n0thing dboorn for non region related tourneys, storm frod n0thing lurppis dboorn dboorn > gfn & possibly storm guy just needs a chance.. and not a one match and you dont do fantastic chance.. like a team to support him.
