FX through after SK victory

Frag eXecutors have become the last team to enter the quarter-finals at WCG 2010 after a dramatic 2-1 victory over SK Gaming.

WCG defending champions Frag eXecutors came from behind to beat SK Gaming 2-1 and seal passage into the quarter-final stage at WCG 2010 in Los Angeles.

The match kicked off on de_tuscan, where SK had showed some impressive play earlier in the tournament, when they eased past Meet Your Makers 24-6. However, this time around the Swedes felt a lot of trouble, and even found themselves down 9-6 at the break. In the second half, though, SK, now playing as CT, looked a lot more inspired and turned the score around to win it 16-14.

On de_train, SK took full advantage of the fact they started off on the defensive side, as the scoreboard showed 10-5 in their favour, a result which made many think the Swedes had the game in the bag. But FX were determined to prove they still had something to say and pulled off an even bigger CT-sided display to win the map 16-14 and level the tie.

Both teams then moved on to de_dust2, where after a close first half, which ended with 8-7 for SK, the Swedes picked up several rounds in a row to make it 15-11 and earn four match points. However, pressure hit SK real hard from then on, as FX upped their game and not only managed to equalise and take the match to overtime, but they also won OT without dropping a single round, claiming victory on de_dust2 with a score of 19-15.

Have you seen dust2? Especially the overtime? He won the game for them. Moreover Pasha won most AWP battles against walle and robban so I don't get the disappointment.

Yeh I know but walle's being doing better this event. A lot of players have had difficult periods, at some moment WMF.solo was not doing great but now he's playing great

Another awesome match with fx on international tournament, maybe they had problem to stay in their best performance, but when they come back we can see beautiful counter strike. But SK was too incredible. Moddii and Robban was amazing.

omfg, stfu about walle or anybody. Probably most of you cried when LUq left, but today imo pasha won the overtime for Fx. So please don't say anything about retirements and all that stuff. epic match. Face played incredibly, I was astonished with his performance. And the interesting thing was, that at the end, NEo wasn't really the best scoring player - it wasnt one man play, the whole teams played great. That's why we love CS :)

This is a great match, almost 3 hours. SK is my favorite team. You guys played very well, but maybe you are unlucky this time. I thought you will be in the finals,but..when you were 15:11 on Dust2. I think all you guys are a little be nervous, and something wrong there. You are not calm(You should be calm and finish the game with 16:12 or 16:13 like, but you are not) but i like you guys, you played very great and show us a great match, everyone of you is the best. I always give support to you. Comeon. You will win the next event! Believe yourself. you are best 5! Walle, i know you are not easy, many people say you need to retire, but i do not agree. you played well, and played a very important role, which anyone else cannot be replayed.
