Artyk invited for KODE5 Finals

The KODE5 organisation has announced that Artyk have been invited to attend the upcoming Global Finals.

The Peruvian side were last seen at the Latin American qualifier for DreamHack Winter, where they finished runners-up to Made in Brazil, suffering a 2-0 defeat in the final.

Artyk have now become the sixth side confirmed at the event, which will take place from 3-5 December in Miraflores, Peru.

They are expected to be joined by four other teams from Peru at the event, as KODE5 will organize a last-chance qualifier one day before the start of the main competition.

Meanwhile, KODE5 has announced that it has reduced the number of teams at the Global Finals from 20 to 16, with no explanation for the move provided.

The participants' list for the KODE5 event currently looks as follows:

Norway LatterligLett
Spain bet4gamers (now x6tence)
Argentina Wild Ineters
Denmark OSLF.dk
Russia Iron Will
Peru Artyk

Artyk have the following roster:

Peru Rodolfo "durst" Pedemonte
Peru Gianfranco "pock" Rosas
Peru Orlando "mokotoN" Calderón
Peru Francis "hadrok" Yunis
Peru Emmanuel "puLT" Vega

As it looks right now, KODE5 would be easier money for a team like that. But lets see who the last teams are gonna be ;) KODE5 isn't a too bad event i think. DH is quite noisy and not so much pro-gaming minded but more BYOC-minded though ;)

This looks like an absolutely horrid event, atleast in comparison to previous years KODE5 finals. Its good and all that other countries are getting exposure and tournaments, but if it means that theres a horrible turnout with no big teams then whats the point. In the end KODE5 will probably just disappear and die like all other events in the past. I cant see this event doing ANYTHING positive for their PR, let alone profiting and gaining sponsors to be able to do more events in the future. Hopefully the remaining 6 teams to be announced (the current 6 + 4 peru last-chance with 16 total leaves 6 spots) are top-tier teams like fnatic, SK, Na`Vi, mTw, FX etc or theres no hope for this event at all unfortunately :(

Not rlly.. MiBR stayed here in Peru for a week playing against teams here practicing for DH and also attended this tournament this weekend with prices and everything, they won dust2.. I was rlly surprised about it and lost nuke and train. I think mibr practiced with artyk during the week a lot actually. I dont think it's because "training tactics" when you play a tournament you play for winning, not for getting 2nd place.
