ESWC announces 2011 event

The Electronic Sports World Cup has officially announced that it will hold an event in 2011.

Unlike all of the ESWC events held so far, the eighth edition will not take place in the summer, but later in the year, during November or as late as December.

The ESWC has announced that France will host the event, but the exact dates and location will not be revealed before the end of the year.

The 2011 event will feature a total prize purse of $220,000, which represents an increase of $6,500 when compared to the pot in 2010.

After Games-Solution used in 2010 a bank guaranty to insure players they would receive their tournaments winnings, the ESWC has confirmed that the same system will continue in 2011.

The selection process of the games is currently in process, and the official titles will soon be announced. All players interested in participating in ESWC preliminaries can now register and sign up for the qualifiers.

HLTV.org also know that the Ukrainians will have to pay taxes of some of their winnings, as some event organizers are inforced to do so by the law which applies in the country the company is registred." i assume that they payed all the prizes to each game :D

how about prizes from 2010 ? 2008 ? anyway - eswc in winter ? horrible idea, instead of making the way to ESWC finals easier, they're making it harder. Like it is in winter - all flights will be delayed, freezy cold, and they'll play in gloves :caught but... better to see & watch that tournament.
