fnatic sign Delpan and Xizt

fnatic have announced the acquisition of Marcus "Delpan" Larsson and Richard "Xizt" Landström.

Breaking news last night when rumors surrounding fnatic's Counter-Strike team spread and caught the media's attention.

Following yesterday's report which read that Marcus "Delpan" Larsson was about to make a move to fnatic, the organization today confirmed that the former MYM man has indeed been signed.

Joining Larsson will be Richard "Xizt" Landström, who of late has donned the colors of the Norwegian-based organization Lions.

Xizt - now a member of fnatic

With fnatic bidding farewell to Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, Rasmus "Gux" Ståhl and Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg, the latter who has been a part of the team since 2005, the squad stands without a fifth player.

However, fnatic.com's initial post regarding the new lineup noted that Landström's former teammate, Niklas "niko" Johansson, would also link up with the team, as the below print screen shows:

Founder and Managing Director of fnatic, Sam Mathews, said that they had the opportunity to take on SK's newly announced team, but that they let the chance pass.

"We had the opportunity to take on this team with Robban, and we chose to let the opportunity pass. We feel cArn is a natural born leader, and will be in fnatic long aftter CS has lost its competitive edge, we believe in his ability and harleys ability to build a winning team. On the other hand it is always disappointing to see the actions of players who have been with the team for five years make a decision to join an organisation for the wrong reasons", he told fnatic.com.

well they can now do a two man awp on train without involving forest in the mix... and boy o boy i wanna see anyone in this world take down delpan with that big green... his technique is flawless... he cannot be taken down... i mean if you just follow his style from his demos your awp skills skyrocket... he has perfected the art... but with niko they will have three good awpers.... i would prefer niko with the awp than dsn...

I really don't get why Gux, GeT_RiGhT, and f0rest want to leave fnatic. Its not like they're not winning or anything--hell, fnatic have won over $130,000 this year. I can't believe it. Shouldn't f0rest have so loyalty for fnatic at least? He's been with them for 5 years now. it's not a question of loyalty, they didn't want him in the team, they put him out. Of course f0rest would never leave fnatic on his own will, only if he had major internal issues.

I thought so. From the beginning, I had a feeling that something happened between those three and cArn and dsn. fnatic is history. In my opinion I think that the old fnatic lineup was the only team that can defeat Na'Vi. One reaches the pinnacle through a head on fight. You can't always expect to win and that's why you have to keep training even if you're at the top. It is the number one rule on being a champion. With the players mixed up like this, I just don't think it's enough to defeat Na'Vi.

I just HATE those fanboys who yell things like "without f0rest they are nothing". If you're truly support your team, then do it without crying. Xizt and Delpan are very good players. They now have an opportunity to grow and become even better! So shut up and support team rather than saying such IDIOTIC things. Hope that Fnatic team will find a good substitution for Gux. 2011 will be the best year ever. Na'Vi is extremely strong mTw with ArcadioN has the potential to be number 1 again. SK with a very good line up, a better lineup Fnatic finally taking Delpan and giving a chance to Xizt, but at what price? FX is looking better and better as Pasha is constantly improving Mouz might be stronger than people think, they'll have the best possible line-up if the rumours turn out to be true (but can they achieve anything without the help of Gob b ?) WeMade Fox finally won a tournament and with peri they look stronger than ever. coL, Lions, MYM etc. can always put big numbers on the scoreboards so you can never count them out. Fasten your seatbelts guys, cause things are looking good ;) !

SK goes for the proven old guys while fnatic goes for young motivated talent. on short term (in first halve 2011) this will probably be good for SK but assuming not much changes will follow I think fnatic will have more succes in the long run gl to all players and both teams :>

well, there's two sides to it. i mean, yeah fnatic got up and coming Delpan and Xizt but on the other hand dsn and cArn will probably quit playing in the next 12 months while the SK lineup got more potential of keeping their inital five man lineup together for a longer period of time. besides, the SK players all knows what it's all about while Delpan and Xizt dont got all that much routine yet.

that routine will come quickly from playing with guys like carn and dsn, I assure you :P and it's not like the gap between lions and SK/fnatic was still that huge, so xizt should be a good addition delpan needs no further arguments from my side obviously, and you're probably right about dsn n carn quitting within 2 years but there's plenty of fragging young swedes out there to fill dsn's shoes (delpan will probably assume primary awp role), and then it's just a matter of finding a good IGL replacement (maybe then resigning threat would be a good option, or niko/pronax or whoever does good by that time, as alot can happen in 1 year) btw snajdan and jumpy are totally retired right? :P I'd like to see fyrr13 or khrystal complete this roster btw!

yeah i know, but they still might struggle throughout the year. i think they will be able to perform well, but perhaps not be as consistent as we're used seeing fnatic to be. and when they finally find that stability, it will probably be time for dsn and cArn to start dealing with their lives outside of gaming. at least on the paper SK should be more successful during 2011, but only time will tell, of course =)

I was n am a fnatic fan, now SK is included too, I am fan of the teams which consist f0rest, carn, dsn, get_right. Specially FOREST-Da-King No one can match him. good luck SK n fnatic for 2011 and defeat Na'Vi in every matches. :S
