Our eighth video from the "Frags from the Past" series stars Team 3D's Kyle "Ksharp" Miller, who easily disposed of four iwa players who were rushing bombsite A on de_dust2 with his AWP in what is one of the most famous rounds of the first years of competitive gaming.

u never played 1.3 and it wasnt any easier to shoot an awp in 1.3 lol, if u werent aimed on the target u missed, plain and simple, same as today if ur not aimed on the target u miss....i dont see how it was any easier back then...maybe u could fire more shots in less time back then, but it was in no way easier, u people need to stop trying to take things away from oldschool players by saying ur opinions on how u think things were back thenm when u werent even around at the time.

It was easier in at least one other sense: bullet stop. In 1.3 and 1.5, nothing happened to your accuracy when you were hit with a bullet and your movement didn't slow down either. This meant that someone could be pumping you full of lead and you could still return fire easily with 100 percent accuracy. In 1.6 it is a big issue; sometimes a guy will hit you just once with a pistol from long range causing you to miss an AWP shot that was in the dead center of his chest. Usually it isn't that bad and you need 2-3 shots to disrupt accuracy but in some ways that is worse because it means that is random and you are at the whims of the game engine.

If awps were still like this, I'd probably be an awper. The delays take a huge toll on riflers when it has delay, it just doesn't feel "right" since it's slow lol.

Beautiful. Usually you see "evolution of cs" as you watch old demos, clips or movies. Like old times ppl didnt know all the tricks, movement, sight etc. But this is exceptional. Ksharp was out of league. Lightyears ahead! He still would own thesedays! :)

actually its great ...plus if the old maps where removed thats years of tactics down the drain ...the last 4 maps that remained are just the most balanced ...and the new adition tuscan is a more balanced version of mill.

Why are people saying don't compare ksharp to markeloff, and why are people defending ksharp ? I'm sure ksharp himself would admit markeloff is much better than he ever was. The fact is markeloff has has much more opportunity to practice and has had much more players to learn from (including ksharp himself). Yes markeloff is better. But it's not the skill involved which is what these old school frag videos are about, it is showing us huge moments which have changed Counter-Strike forever. Players like ksharp have made players like markeloff who they are today.

I agree to a certain extent. Whilst these frags look very nice (and don't get me wrong, they are very, very nice and I am a huge ksharp fan) the level of Counter-Strike back then is very little to today's Counter-Strike.

the level of counter-strike is a very wide definition and i think the skill of this wide definition is almost the same rather the same. and i ask you to watch this video back and check the frags thoughtfully! he is just as quick as it is possible he uses drag shoot when it is necessary NO ONE on the earth could do this better than the way it is done.. sure markeloff and the others know much about teamplay, tactisc, timing, maybe even communications BY NOW!.. i have seen so many hltv demos i have been watching them since i started playing.. belive me :)

i actually dont think ksharp or anyone would say markelhoff is better....markeloff has been around for what a year? how can u compare the two people? markeloff seriously hasnt proven himself yet, maybe he just had a really really good year and next year he will be a shitbag? and ksharp has always dominated with the awp, even after taking years off of cs and then coming back a few years ago, he was still a monster. all these vidoes are from Frag or Die just watch that they have all the top frags from 1.3-1.5 And Markeloff is better than Ksharp because the level of talent today is much better. Now if Ksharp had his prime right now he could be better than Markeloff but if you take both of them in their primes Markeloff has more skill because back when Ksharp played there wasn't half of the amount of skilled teams there are now especially in America. Put Ksharp in Europe now and he would just as good as Markeloff.

It was the best in the world for a while, but there was also other awpers who were as good (or not very far skillwisely), and were outshined by teammates (Hyb?) or of the same nationality (sunman?). I still think he was overrated, I remember his config was one of the first to surpass HeatoN's on sogamed just based on the kind of hype his awp was getting. And no, the markeloff comparison doesn't work. Saying markeloff or f0rest were overrated 4 years from now would be the same as saying right now that HeatoN or SpawN were overrated, which they weren't.

Some of you people who have never played any of the versions prior to 1.6. need to understand that this is pretty damn good for something that happened about 9 years ago. This is impressive, even with the ability to quickswitch without delay. I'd like to see any of you do it with 23hp... Most of you probably couldn't even do it against an open (low) team. Also, while markeloff hits 1 good shot in that clip, I wouldn't call the clip as a whole "sick." At the end of the day, he still fails to save his gun.
