forZe replace Full-Gaming in Kiev

ESL has announced that forZe will be replacing Full-Gaming for the IEM5 European Championship Finals next week.

forZe originally lost the opportunity to attend the event, when losing 2-0 against Full-Gaming in the relegation stage. With the Danes cancelling their attendance, the Russian/Ukrainian team has now gotten the chance to show their worth, as ESL has selected them to replace Full-Gaming.

forZe travel to Kiev with the following lineup:

Russia Aleksey "HEL1" Novikov
Russia Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov
Ukraine Sergey "lmbt" Bezhanov
Ukraine Emil "Kucher" Akhundov
Russia Alexey "OverDrive" Birukov

forZe will compete in Group B, where they will face Na´Vi, fnatic, Lions, Alternate and No Problem!. It is likely that this will be a one-time showing for the team, as most of the players have found a new team to play for.

You can hardly call this a strange decision. It is common if a team does not show up, the team that got eliminated by this team will be the first one to grab the available spot. Forze might have disbanded, they will play with their original lineup. Forze is a Ukranian/Russian team and the finals are in Ukraine, this decision will also please the local fans and the tem will not have any issues with visas. Even though a last chance qualifier would have been more entertaining and would probably come with a better team but that doesn't change the fact that this decision is fair enough. I doubt this team will make it to the playoffs but they can come up with a good fight against alternate and no problem and an interesting derby against navi.

I agree that taking the opponent of FG to Kiev can be consider a fair, to some extent, decision though even if the line-up is the original one it is still a mix right now. When x6tence drop out of IEM5 ESL did not chose the team x6tence eliminated but did set up a Last Change Cup which maybe due to time constraints wasn't able this time. But, as just said, this was the way it was done previously.
