digifest announces 2011 event
The organisation behind digifest has revealed the first details about the upcoming event.
The 2011 edition of digifest, a prestigious Estonian LAN event, will take place from 22-23 March at the Solaris Entertainment & Lifestyle Centre in Tallinn.
The Counter-Strike tournament, which will run on the LAN party's computers, and not on the players' own PCs, will feature 16 teams, four from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland.
The online qualifiers for Estonia and Finland will run from 4-6 March, while the ones for Latvia and Lithuania will be played exactly one week later.
The winner of the digifest competition will receive €2,500 plus a spot at a "world famous LAN party", whose named will be revealed later this month.
It is believed that this LAN party is DreamHack, as digifest has organised qualifiers for the famous Swedish event in the past.
The exact prize distribution will be released by 1 March at the latest. The signup fee will be €15 per player and €75 per team.
