dateam have announced the addition of former SK Gaming talent Emil "striker" Westerberg to the team.

The move marks the Swedish player's return to the gaming stages after becoming inactive in November 2008, when he was replaced by Anders "Rwa" Svensson in Blank.

He was last seen playing seriously in January 2009, when he stepped in for Mattias "Snajdan" Andersen in Blank at the Extreme Masters III Continental Finals, where the team did not survive the group stage.

"We had the opportunity to put striker in our team to boost the team energy and performance and we felt that it was the right choice," Daniel "rape" Börzsönyi told HLTV.org.

Westerberg joins dateam to replace Joel "emilio" Mako, as the Swedish side look to scale greater heights by adding a more experienced name to the fare.

"The reason emilio had to leave was for the best for our team, to keep everyone motivated and more focused," Börzsönyi added.

"emilio is a good player and has a superb personality, but we just felt that striker could fill his place even better with more ideas and more experience."

dateam plan to make their first appearance at ASUS Winter from 26-27 February, where they will present:

Probably around the same level as spawn was after he came back when he was playing "for fun", hard to tell though time will tell :)

I don't know if the comparison with SpawN is the best one as Abdi usually plays a lot of mixes, which I am not sure about with regard to striker.

last time I've seen him playing was during IOL lans with some friends of his, and he definatly still had the level to compete
