The grand total of $15,000 has been set aside for this season's invite division, and will see the winning team take home $7,000.
Invite Division prize distribution:

The remaining $11,550 has been spread across the remaining three divisions - Main, Intermediate and Open.

Invite Division prize distribution:

The season will culminate in Dallas, Texas, between April 29 - May 1, to where a total of six teams will advance from the online stage.

Last season saw Evil Geniuses overcome Frag Dominant to secure the first place, a victory which earned them $7,000.

In ESEA the winners of ESEA-main get moved up and the rest is up to ESEA's decision. They often move up newly formed teams with a lot of potential (like Winout) and sometimes they allow the ESEA community to vote on the moveups. This is sometimes controversial (aka a team that placed 5th getting moved up over a team that placed 2nd) but ESEA has stuck to it. Each team, provided they don't die, gets 2 seasons to prove they deserve their spot before being moved down. Usually a team that sticks together and shows improvement, even if it is going from 1-15 to 4-12, gets to stay in invite.
