SK Gaming have announced Jimmy "allen" Allen has gone inactive from the Counter-Strike squad he joined July 17 in 2006, a result of his recent illness.

The speculations about what was going on in SK Gaming has been many ever since the Swedish team shortly before the IEM5 World Championship announced the team would use Dennis "dennis" Edman as a stand-in for Jimmy "allen" Allen.

It has at several occasions been pointed out that Allen is ill, which makes him unable to play. Today he chose to publicly address the situation, announcing his call to become inactive.

"Hey guys! After almost 5 years in the SK hoodie I've decieded to become inactive until further notice. I haven't been feeling well lately due to a sickness that effects me in a negative way regarding Counter-Strike. I choose to play the IEM Euro Finals in January even though I didn't feel well and after that I realized I should take a break and focus on my illness for a while.

I hope to be back one day and I wanna thank SK Gaming and my lovely team-mates for some great years, and I wish them gl this year, I think they'll do really well. Sick lineup 2011.

I also wanna thank all my loyal fans, of course, for all the support during the years. It helped me a lot keeping myself motivated having you guys cheering me on. Hope you guys will still be out there if I do a comeback." – Reads a statement on the SK Gaming website.

Many have been asking what illness Allen has and why it makes him unable to play, but Allen finds it hard to comment on.

"I guess you guys wanted me to explain more about my illness but I find that very hard, it's complicated. Sorry about that. But I'm sure I will be fine in reasonable time."

Allen joined SK Gaming on July 17 in 2006 alongside Mattias "Snajdan" Andersen, being just 17-years-old. Since then he has attended many events and most of the time finished within the top five.

Allen was voted MVP of Arbalet Cup Europe 2009 in Stockholm (finishing with a 1.13 rating), an event SK Gaming won by defeating mTw in the Grand Final.

This leaves SK Gaming with four members, while Edman is still on a trial-period, following SK's statements last week.

I was attempting to assist him in an indirect way so he doesn't go crazy because of his replies lol. I hope "you" was generalized and not towards me O.o, I did see it; and not every member of HLTV are in high school :) EDIT: Of course if you were agreeing with me then yeah, I wouldn't say school because what they could be learning in school could be foreign to the English language. Of course usage of words "double meanings" can be different between languages. Then again... "unexpected" is a common word and sarcasm in all languages should mean the same >.>

Well, you could consider the "SK trio" the remainder of the 2008 team that held together until the end of last year. RoBBaN, allen and walle were always there, while there were alternating players around them, including Tentpole, zet, zneel, kHRYSTAL, GuX and currently face. Adding f0rest and GeT_RiGhT meant the departure of walle, effectively cutting the trio down to two.

No, I don't believe so. I know people in real life with symptoms that I assume allen is implying here. Long term sickness being "complicated" to explain regarding just not feeling well is usually a psychological problem, one could be depression as it tends to make you nauseous and want to throw up and generally not feel well for a very very long time (my ex girlfriend had same problem god bless her =X). It could be something small like a flu or a cold that's been around for a long time, my sister has had a flu for 3 months before. Never know... Anyway hope you get well soon Allen!

True true. Haha fear of flying, my parents used to tell me stories of when I was 5-7 years old yelling in the plane "We're all going to die! We're going to crash!". The whole section of plane was laughing XD Though the more you fly a plane the more it fades from personal experience (Now i travel back and forth around 2 times a year), he should have done the same then he would still be in the business now. Gotta hate the way of the mind sometimes m8 =X, humans tend to f*** themselves up. Edit: Especially with signs of stress or depression like my previous post.

As far as I know it was just a rumor that he was afraid of flying. I remember fury himself saying that it was just a rumor that he had phobias and he was really kicked because he didnt want to play anymore. Side note you use to many ........ :}

Well if he has depression he should just go to a freaking psychiatrist and be given some antidepressants, they really work, and in less than 2 weeks. He could have MS, or something that dificultes movements/focus. He should just let everybody know, I think, but its hist right not to. Still, this still smells like SK trying to cover shit up.

Most likely he probably is going through depression or a drug problem since he does not wish to reveal it. If he had a serious illness he probably would of informed the community since they are usually life threating and the support even though over the internet would probably be a good thing.

When he says "complicated" the 'illnesses' that went through my head were Bipolar, Depression, Diabetes, or Crohn's Disease. But SK players sure do get "ill" a lot. That is the only reason I find it hard to believe SK when they announce things. Anyway if he really is ill hopefully he is able to manage it and get better.

gl to allen, he was so sick when he first joined SK, and developed into a great player. there are things so much more important than cs no matter how much you love it, so i hope he is okay in all other aspects of life, and hope the illness can be dealt with easily!

Allen doesn't have to tell anyone anything, it's entirely his choice. If it is a mental disorder, he probably feels ashamed talking about it which is sad because it shows how stigmatized these disorders are in our society. The reality is that depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, etc. are biological disorders and those last two are among the worst you can have, approaching the seriousness of something like MS. Living with one is not fun - I know, I'm Bipolar.

Thanks for everything allen! kind of feel sad he never got the respect playing at same level of other players only cause hes not the igl or top fragger everytime. His condition could be anything, but it dont matter he didnt want to tell, thats it. also If your not 100% motivated and into the game its pretty boring and dead, cramping the fingers and headache depression, futility and what not. Its fun to follow the game and tourneys, but i never will understand the sacrifice of being a pro and actually be there and travel and lack of sleep, pressure etc , its consumes way too much to be healthy , unless you really really looove to play :p
