WCG releases USA qualifiers info

The World Cyber Games organisation has announced the dates of the American qualifiers for this year's world finals.

The American qualifying process will kick off in just two weeks' time with the first qualifier, followed by two more, one in May and the other in June, each of which will be played online and can feature up to 128 teams.

There will also be a Last Chance online qualifier in late July, which will feature the top 32 teams from each of the previous qualifiers.

The American WCG national finals will then bring about the four winners from these qualifiers, with the dates and location of the event set to be announced at a later time.

WCG 2011 American qualifier dates:

Qualifier #1 25 April - 1 May
Qualifier #3 23-29 May
Qualifier #5 20-26 June
Last Chance qualifier 18-26 July

At WCG 2010 in Los Angeles, Evil Geniuses, who attended the event with Travis "tuBBy" Bechtol as a stand-in for Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen, did not make it past the quarter finals, losing 2-0 to eventual runners-up mTw.

The 2011 WCG finals will be held in South Korea, with the organisation yet to announce the dates for the tournament.

There are about 4 other US teams that can give EG a run for their money currently.

Lurppis was great no lie, but that's not the reason the other teams can give EG a run for their money. I'm pretty sure EG is adjusting with Irukandji and practicing their best. Back to my point; UMX live together and are practicing really hard, DINC has an outstanding roster who can if they're playing at their best can defeat anyone. A51 has a decent roster but personally I don't think they nor Brotherhood of NOD will have too great of a chance with EG. iDemise and Backfire did great this ESEA season but again not sure if they are going to defeat EG @ LAN, but maybe in the qualifiers?

idemise and backfire are the same team... are you sure you have any idea what you're talking about? a51 and nod are both mostly if not entirely canadian... isn't this the us qualifier?

I think PG could easily beat EG. Even though they don't "live" for the game like the EG guys do.

I didn't say they are "no-lifers". My statement was: their "job" is to play Counter-Strike - that's why I said they "live to play". You should stop playing so much, and focus in learning how to read.

They might meet at WCG if both teams reach the event but not during the qualifiers as different countries (Brazil/USA) are involved...
