WSVG 2007 Prize List

The 2007 tour for the World Series of Video Games (WSVG) is near and the prizes for the stops have been announced.

Over the last few weeks the WSVG organising committee announced the 2007 circuit stops and the games that would be played. While the tour stops will be held in promising locations, the games chosen were met with hostile reception by the gaming public. Why Guitar Hero 2 and World of Warcraft was the general question but now the prize money has been released it seems clear that these games have generated a lot of sponsors wealth.

The prize purse for four official games, Quake 4, World of Warcraft, Guitar Hero 2 and Fight Night 3 will be generally the same in every WSVG stop during this year. Take a look below for the prize purse:

Quake 4:
1st $5,250
2nd $3,000
3rd $2,100
4th $1,200
5th $1,200
6-8th $750
Total: $15,000

World of Warcraft:
1st $10,500
2nd $6,000
3rd $4,200
4th $2,400
5th $2,400
6-8th $1,500
Total: $30,000

Fight Night 3:
1st $2,625
2nd $1,500
3rd $1,050
4th $600
5th $600
6-8th $375
Total: $7,500

Guitar Hero 2:

However, the first stop will be in Wuhan, China from the 1st-3rd May and the prizes at this stop are quite different. Here is the prizelist for China:

Also the WSVG stop at Louisville, Kentucky will feature a $30,000 Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament. The same prize purse will be in Europe stop, which has not yet officially announced.

No you will duel in the arena, I think you get to pick your own gear and stuff. 5v5 or 4v4 me thinks :]

gota a question: When a C.S 1.6 clan wins the money for example 10.000 Euro, who gets the money, only the five players or ?

Normally their organization (clan) take some percentages, and the rest is split between the players..

Wth CS wasn't supposed to be major in this tournament, yet it has the biggest price purse :D? WSVG is a joke IMHO. I mean fight night, WoW and guitar hero... My 5-year old little sister could win in any of those games. With ease.
