KaoS came from the Lower Bracket to beat FAMAZING twice and win The Party 9.

The tournament, which was held in the Dutch city of Eindhoven, is one of the Benelux's most prestigious LAN events and attracted a total of 24 teams from Belgium and the Netherlands.

KaoS, who previously worked under the name Progression, dropped into the Lower Bracket in the semi-finals after losing to pureControl, but then found their way back and moved past LowLandLions and Antwerp Aces before getting back at pureControl to reach the Grand Final.

With KaoS requiring two maps to win the event, the team beat FAMAZING 16-9 on de_nuke and 16-5 on de_dust2 to secure a spot at DreamHack Summer.

sypher got eliminated by fresh or at least thrown into the lower bracket by fresh, and then they lost to either LLL or AA LLL playing without seezung, AA had kind of a mixteam. Same for Kaos, who had to use dDd from 2 weeks before the event as zevk/damager dropped out. So there was not 1 team except sypher and pureControl with their regular lineup/starting 5

I didn't follow the Belgium/Netherlands scene lately, but as I remembered AA was always saying they are the dominant team and now I see this result... However, maybe it's because KaoS is the only organization that pays the players, and maybe that's why these players have motivation, while AA are losing it...

nobody in benelux is getting payed (salaries atleast) ;) on the motivation thing..after winning almost every offline event for the past +-1.5 year in benelux, I think it's natural that we kinda lost motivation to pracc as a team/individual. same thing that happened with fnatic in the end of 2009 after their year of dominance I guess...so yeah our performance hasnt been optimal or consistent lately, but this will change again I think after this bad result =) anyways, congratz kaos, gl in sweden

I hope for you guys to find sponsors. However, I know it's very difficult. But I don't understand, why after +-1 1.5 years of domination no sponsors approched you. It's really sad, that u don't know how to attract them. Best luck in future tournaments!

beacuse dominating the benelux scene is not impressive. these losers visited IOL and got their asses kicked by stockholm angels (florenz, givar etc) and played 15-15 against fit4fight (flwster, solen etc). maybe they are the best in benelux together with kaos, but if they compare to swedish teams they're not even top 25.

I agree with you totally, but maybe they can attract local benelux companies promoting gaming devices or smth related to esports... Or that can possibly be related to esports, like adidas, coca-cola, red bull... Because even if they are not 25 in sweden, they totally have more fans in benelux, which can buy the products of supporting companies...

yeah, i see your point. they got a lot more fans and publicity than the teams that are ranked 25th in sweden. but since they visited iol in stockholm they must've sponsors? or did they really pay the trip by themselves? but yeah, would be cool if they could visit some more events so they got get off their high horses. they seem a little too cocky, if you ask me. especially when i'm sure that i could beat them any given day.

I meant that if they win almost everything in benelux, benelux small (/big) companies can sponsor them to target benelux cs fans or smth... For example, I know that not only like top10 cs teams have sponsors (at least, some support)... I am sure x6tence have, but on the international scene they are not wOw... But in Spain/Portugal they are awesome..

at IOL it was a mixteam (2 standins) and no need to flame "losers", be polite :) and we do have sponsors that pay plane flight, hotel, etc, just no salaries

well not weird as there is hardly anything to play for in NL, when it comes to prizes/sponsorships. so with maybe 2/3/4 evenings of practice against the hardcore praccing and bootcamping of most swedish topteams, that is not too weird? :P

My best friends' 2nd lan win a row, just what I've expected! chrisJ is a player with great potential and he is very dedicated. I think he's now the best player in the Netherlands together with headc. I said on another forum that KaoS will be an outsider for the title and my expectations became reality. Famazing made a good effort but they missed experience to make it KaoS difficult but nevertheless it's a good result for those guys. Now, let's hope this lineup stays together for a long time and pracc for the DH Summer event. They could do serious damage if they stay motivated, but all the players have a good social life so lets wait and see. GL in the future!

lets not forget pureControl getting 3rd was also a great feat :P although they were probably on the easier side of the bracket than famazing, they did beat Kaos on 1 map ^_^
