CNB lose CS team

CNB-Gaming have announced they have witnessed the departure of their Counter-Strike team.

In a statement issued by CNB, it is read that the team have received a "good offer" from another organisation, which will allow the players to attend two international events, among other benefits.

"Unfortunately, big investments in Brazil are still unviable because of the poor return, even after an excellent year, in 2010 the return was not enough to guarantee the support expected by the players," a CNB statement read.

During their time with CNB, the team won the Brazilian KODE5 stop and went on to secure the trophy at the Global Finals in Peru in a all-Latin American event.

They also took part in GameGune in the summer, finishing in 5-6 place at the Spanish event after losses to fnatic and wCrea.

CNB at GameGune

CNB state they will not be adding a new CS team anytime soon as they plan to focus on their other divisions and different projects.

The Brazilian organisation had the following team:

Brazil Olavo "chucky" Napoleão
Brazil Guilherme "spacca" Spacca
Brazil Thiago "btt" Monteiro
Brazil Arthur "prd" Resende
Brazil Gustavo "mkr" Mekaru

Why not? ex-Col without an organization. ex-CNB without an organization and mibr without a team. ex-CNB + ex-Col = the best players from Brazil. mibr coming back with a new lineup mixing these players....oh, man....Brazil can take the top3 for sure. *.* (hope) ---- but ok, you was ironic.

Yeah, the team have maybe received a good offer, but that doesn't mean that the players can't talk with other teams or does it? The players can still talk with other teams and like you said, they have received a good offer so they haven't accepted it yet which means that they still can sign with other teams and players can departure so I think you should think about what you commented and ask yourself if your question really made sense?

The following sentence will explain it simple for you, and I quote: "In a statement issued by CNB, it is read that the team have received a "good offer" from another organisation, which will allow the players to attend two international events, among other benefits." 1. The team hasn't accepted the offer yet they have just received a good offer which means that they can sign to another organization and it don't have to be the one that offered them a so called "good offer", if they now can find anything better since we don't yet know what offer they have received. 2. Because the team has received a "good offer" doesn't mean that the players can't sign for other teams because as of right now, they are Free Agents which means that they can negotiate with other teams about joining them, if they want, of course, and that they don't have to join the other organization that want to sign with the complete team. If I haven't been clear just tell me and I'll try to explain it to you easier. I think this is as simple explained as it gets.

THEY LEFT CNB-GAMING cause they got a better organization now, they just didn't said the name of the org to the esports press SO STFU. Besides the fact that i am portuguese and i can read in brazilian websites... I truely hate when dumb kids don't accept the fact that they've failed ffs. just stfu already

Man you just can't accept that you failed? What I said doesn't make any sense? Okey, let's look at it that way. If you were clever you wouldn't write bullshit here on HLTV.org and you would write REAL arguments instead of insulting me. Why are you mad and replying with large letters? Are you mad because you got owned by a "kid"? You make me laugh and I have to say this really made my day. How do you know that they have signed for a new organization when it doesn't stand any where that they have? They have just received a good offer and that's all so now they are Free Agents and can sign to other organizations. The only person who failed in this thread is you my friend but you just can't accept it. Your so called "arguments" make no sense and you are wrong as hell. You should take a good look of what you wrote and then reply to me. Good day to you.

don't wanna get involved in your lovely discussion but can't help it. lidda, while all of what you said could be true, why would the team leave CNB if not to join another organization where they got a better deal? yes, it is not explicitly stated in the article that they accepted the offer, but I think it is implied that they did. also, why do think btt will join ex-coL? I mean sure it is possible but there is nothing in the article to suggest that.

You're right, there is nothing in the article to suggest that but why couldn't he join the ex-coL players as a fifth player? They are in need of a fifth player and I've heard that he is like in the top 8 list of best players in Brazil. I'm not getting the idea that BTT could join the ex-coL players as the fifth player based on what the article said but from what I've heard. And yes, maybe they did accept the "good offer" from the organization that offered them to play for them, but as long as it isn't official, anything is possible and that's where this fella that "argued" with me, is wrong. Nothing is official yet and anything can happen, that's what I said while he says that I'm a dumb kid and my sentences doesn't make sense because. He said that I'm wrong because they have already been offered a spot in another organization, okey, I get that but does it mean that BTT can't join the ex-coL players because of that? No! And that where he's wrong, he is considered as a Free Agent right now and can do, if you excuse me, whatever the fuck he wants because he doesn't have a contract with any one right now.

I don't think it does matter much who hires the players but that the line-up(s) does actually work hard in order to achieve something. And, as the Na'Vi example has shown us, if funds are not the problem (even though Ukraine is indeed closer to the main tournaments than Brazil) players can focus on what really matters.

col next br lineup, they found a gold mine in brazil lol, even if they don't do nothing international.. having that big amount of brazilians fans will do well for col, more money more sponsors etc... Trust me. Probably nobody knows buts cs.br is probably the biggest cs community in the world, i won't exagerate but it's like china with sc2 but without the supports for the players. PS: I remeber reading the new of ex-col joining col, and the most comments were "Where can i get coL creative headset.

here in Brazil, CS is a very popular game, however , here in Brazil we do not have adequate support for that great young players to continue playing career at CS . I for example, i met great players who were poor and were unable to continue because they had no financial support from anyone. good equipment, a good mouse, a good headset, a good keyboard, are very expensive here in Brazil.. It is very rare here, you see anyone who has a SteelSeries product, but why? because the tax in Brazil is very expensive, so the products arrive here with up to 3x the original value of the product. often a good equipment makes a difference to a great player. ask any professional player, if his ability to play is the same with a cheap mouse ... SteelSeries would profit much if they had factories in the Brazil ... Anyway, if we had enough investment here, we would be a glorious country setting within the E-Sports . ;) Sorry For English :/

Here in Brazil you don't have access to guns like in USA or other countries, unless you have them from the past... as CS has a huge community in Brazil and everyone here have already played Counter-Strike, mentally retarded people blame the game for assassinations... For example, the "Realengo Massacre" was due emotional problems caused by bully, has nothing to do with CS...

Counter Strike was forbidden few years ago. however it doesnt matter at all cause you could buy it on steam, and if you already owned CS nobody could do anything about it. the lan houses/cyber cafes didnt had CS, or at least shouldnt

what sponsors? give me a break the only way any team in Brazil will get money is from an American or European organization and after coL disaster I doubt anyone will invest in CS in Brazil...

just mark that good offer is put between "...", well to me it sounds like sarcasm btw I don't think it's hard to have a better "offer" than CNB (again mark the "...")

Facts and personal opinions: 1. CS is not dead in Brazil. Yet. But it is dying slowly nonetheless. Obviously, it's not just because the former CNB lineup parted ways with the organization, it's more than that: sponsors are simply not looking at the game anymore and most likely, since the very beginning of the majors, we won't have both WCG and ESWC qualifies due to lack invesment. 2. In every country who have a CS scene, the only way to measure how good is the community is analysing how much tournaments were played by and how many top level attended. Aside of last year clashes between ex-CNB vs ex-coL.br there are no huge team rivalry in Brazil between teams. We still have good teams such as sX, hard division and others scattered through our states. But, as I said it before, without sponsors, its very difficult to travel abroad and therefore achieve the needed experience to win top european/asian teams. 3. Since late 2005, the top 5 most respected, capacited and qualified players in Brazil were cogu, KIKO, pava, gaules and fnx. With fnx recent (and premature since he is just turned on 20 years old) departure from coL all of these have already retired from gaming scene. Well, without idols youngers tends to move along with their lifes and try something else, specially the newcomers, who are the true gear of any community in their eager attempt to improve their skills. 4. After DBA (Paulo Velloso's company) ceased on sponsoring mibr - right after cogu 2nd retirement announcement - even with the efforts of organizations such as CNB and sX, it will be very very difficult for brazilian teams overcome the experience gap that exists between their teams and experienced teams in Europe. 5. Well, after all, we are talking about a game that has been played for almost a decade. Without hesitation I would further add that there were no major changes in the game since CS 1.6 debuted in early 2005 if my memory doesn't fail me. Both Source (mainly with the bankrupt CGS) and Promod (who got delayed so many time that teams lacked interest on it) tried to de-throne it but, well, they failed on getting sponsors attention and community interest over time. And that's pretty much what it is... Feel free to criticize me (or crucify me, you choose) but I'd like to remember two things before: First, these are my personal opinions. Second, to base my arguments I'm covered with facts. I know players around here and I played Counter-Strike for almost 7 years around here and always got interested on following the scene movement. Cheers

OF COURSE....why any person living in Brazil would put up money for a video game team is certifiable crazy....its funny people think they will get good returns on investing in CS....go invest in some bonds or stocks or go bet on football better chance of making your money back, especially in Brazil where CS has zero cashflow.

In fact mibr made up good returns for DBA. Do you know how much S&S SteelSeries special edition mousepads they sold? I can glimpse to you: a lot. Brazil is a huge country and therefore have a lot of team supporters. But when cogu left the team the trust bond so hardly developed over the years by the team and the investor broke and since then Paulo Velloso decided to step away because some good players were always - and will always be - problematic and unprofessional. By the course of years, in one of his last interviews he shared to the community that he invested almost 100k to 200k in the per year. And remember that mibr once had big sponsors such as DBA itself, SteelSeries, NVidia, Sennheiser, Shuttle among many others... I'm pretty sure that if cogu somewhat manage to comeback we would see a good shape mibr again. But this is near to impossible as cogu is almost 25 years old and gave a lot of thought on leaving the counter-strike scene once and for all. Cheers, mate!
