WCG confirms Busan as 2011 city
The World Cyber Games committee has announced that Busan will play host to the 2011 event.
HLTV.org had reported already in February that Busan was the strongest candidate to stage the upcoming WCG edition.
The event will take place at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Center (BEXCO) from 8-11 December, running from Thursday through to Sunday.
Busan, located in the southeast of Korea, is the country's second biggest city, with a population of around 3.6 million people, and succeeds Los Angeles the event's host.
"Busan is expected to be the hub city of games and culture by bringing WCG along with G-star," said Nam-Sik Hur, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City. "We will do our best in welcoming the international delegates for a successful WCG 2011 Grand Final."
The decision marks the return of the WCG to its homeland, where it hosted its first four events, from 2000 to 2003.
Natus Vincere are the current WCG champions in the Counter-Strike competition after beating mTw in the final, while South Korea emerged victorious in the medal count.
