IEM6 to span across four continents

Michal "Carmac" Blicharz, Intel Extreme Master's product manager, has revealed that the next IEM season will span across four continents.

Blicharz conveyed the announcement through his Twitter account, with the message going as follows: "Intel Extreme Masters will go to four continents this year."

The only indication of a sixth season has so far – except Blicharz' most recent Twitter message – been the IEM event calendar, in which it clearly says "Season 6".

During the prize ceremony of the Intel Extreme Masters 4 World Championship, George Woo, marketing manager for Intel Corporation, announced the following season.

Which exact continents Blicharz spoke of in his message is for the time being unknown, just as it is with any other information regarding the coming season.

Depends from country to country, in Portugal (at least at the time I was taught this) we only consider 6 continents: America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Antartic and Oceania. I still recognize America like one whole continent.

There are 7 total continents: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and Antarctica; but like u said you only consider 6 like us because no one lives in Antarctica ha-ha so exclude that continent:P There's no such continent as Oceania... Most likely North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

Who wouldve imagined that education in Brazil is superior? We learn the 3 ways. America as one. America as South America, Central America and North America. The division criteria here is simply "location location location". And America as North America and Latin America (contains South and Central). The division criteria here is the spoken languages: spanish and portuguese are both latin-derived.

actually yes))) since it was 3 continents, where the qualifications were: North America - where EG, ex-coL competed Europe - where all european teams competed Asia - where all asian + oceania teams competed Now if the new continent is, for example, South America, the teams from South America would not need to go to North America to qualify.

I was asking a question, what will change if they will add South America as a new continent, since last year the teams representing the continents were: South America - coL North America - EG Europe - Navi, etc. Asia - WMF, UMX where is the mistake here? Now I got the answer, that the continents meant the qualifications, since coL came to North America qualification. And now, they will have their own South AMerica qualification

I can read, I insist. It should be "fnatic, ..." not "Na'Vi, ..." And coL was representing SA mainly because of the fact that, their 5 members were Brazilians. But there was no tournament held in SA. That's what is about to change, going back to your first comment.

I know, but why does he quote Na'Vi instead of fnatic? Either he mentions all the teams qualified (as he did with the other regions) or he just mentions fnatic as the champions of Europe. There is no "Americas" Championship whatsoever. The American Championship is only for NA teams, in the last 2 seasons, they invited SA teams, but there's no such thing as a qualifier or even more, an entire event with teams from both Americas

4 continents? So im guessing that will see IEM Asia: Mostly will be somewhere in China again or maybe in Japan ^^. IEM America: Mostly will be in LA or NY that has a convention going on(ex: E3). IEM Euro: Either in a Cologne, Germany on a special convention or the most ever popular Kiev CyberSport Arena in Kiev, Ukraine (?)IEM Middle East: maybe in Dubai again? Thats my take on this 4 continents where it would be located.
