Teams demand KODE5 prizes
Several Latin American teams have told larepublica.pe they have not yet received their prizes from the last KODE5 Global Finals.
Held in December in Peru, the 2010 KODE5 Global Finals was the least exciting event in the organisation's four-year history, with only seven teams, all from Latin America, involved in the tournament.
Peruvian side Money Makers, who finished in third place to earn the right to a $5,000 cheque, have now complained their efforts to receive their money have not produced any result.
"We have not been paid yet, we talked to the local organisater of the event [Integrex S.A.C], who simply told us it is the responsibility of the international brand [KODE5] to pay out prizes, but up to this point they have not yet contacted us," Money Makers spokesperson Sandro Jurado told larepublica.pe.
Jurado added that this side were given a schedule with the payments they were to receive, with the first transfer supposed to have been made in February.
This is not the only team that have not seen the color of money. Brazilian giants CNB Gaming and Argentine side Wild Ineters have also confirmed to larepublica.pe that KODE5 has not paid them.
"We know these procedures take some months but we did not believe they would disrespect us in such way, not giving any signs of life for months, disappearing from the face of the earth," Juan Manuel "mvk" Argogliosi said.
Meanwhile, Martín Lescano Casanova from Progamer Consultores S.A.C., the company responsible for the security and the logistics of the event, remarked they are also due money.
"[Manuel Amau, general manager of Integrex] owes me money," Casanova told larepublica.pe
"They have only paid me 10 percent, I'm missing approximately 10,000 soles [€2,500]."
