The fnatic PLAY organizers have picked that 22 remaining teams for the tournament starting Tuesday at 18:00CET.

Ten teams had been invited and the remaining 22 teams would be found today, before the tournament would kick off at 18:00CET. As we later learned, the tournament was postponed to Tuesday, giving the organizers some time to pick the remaining 22 teams, which would be randomly picked.

The 22 teams picked randomly based on signups are:

I do understand you, but i still find it quite like to drop such a comment because your mates didnt get into this cup. I find it lucky that we got picked, and ofcourse i would get mad too if we didnt get in and some noob teams did. But thats how they run it, we can't do much about it. But yes, mTw vs randoms = no fun for the spectaters, but its fun for the random team to meet top teams.

Well, I'm a bit dissapointed obviously. I mean, obviously everyone had better chances, to get get a slot for the tournament with the check-in system, but with the DdoS, they decided to pick teams randomly and chances to get a slot there are almost unreal. I mean I see a team called scaleo and seriously, no offense scaleo, we would beat you just like that. I mean you are a mix team, guys who play CS once a week and get a slot there and my team, we play CS to prove something and we don't get a slot. Obviously every team is almost equal, except those teams, who got picked by admins. Not that fair, if you ask me. And the thing is, there is nothing you can do about it. I feel sorry, for those topteams, who didn't get a slot there too, like atLaNti's team, k1ng0r's team etc. The last fnatic tournament was great, this one not so much. I know, our chances, weren't that good, even with the check-in system, but come on. Now random teams, can just send a e-mail. I'm sure they didn't include their steam ID's too( I know I did), what was needed on the site and they got a slot. You can like add randoms now, one team can play with superstar line-up like f0rest, GeT_RiGhT, trace, zonic and markeloff and they would use fake nicks and no one would figure that out. There is nothing you can do about it, that's life I guess and you have to move on..

Better teams make cup more attractive and it also shows some "quality". Never heard about 70% of teams there....so no rage to miss that cup... will "better" teams miss games against theese opponents? I dont think so. Kinda waste for better teams who should really compare their skills and not got just raped. Hey everyone, I do understand that the non-selected teams are disappointed, but consider the following before expressing your anger: - Fnatic PLAY is open for everyone. We want to activate gamers across Europe and with that we mean ALL Europe. We did indeed invite a certain amount of teams to guarantee a competitive tournament, but the majority would be open for everyone, yes everyone. I know hand-picking established teams would potentially give us more attention, but in order to keep the CS scene alive among the grassroots, we wanted to let everybody have the chance to compete for the glory. - We picked teams randomly I have read several nonsense posts that we favored teams in the picking process. We are aware of that the initial plan was to pick the first teams to check-in, but then again this would also be random as so many people wanted to participate. Also worth to mention is that our Web server got DDosed so badly it went down for 45 minutes, which made us change our process to Email check-in. Still I would say both methods are as random. - Why was not my team picked? The mathematic is simple. We received more than 200 request to our e-mail in just 1 hours time. We had limited spots on our hands and with that many submitters everyone´s chances are decreasing. Finally, I would like to ask for some appreciation and unity here. We are doing this for the you - The community. Our crew is putting hours into setting this up and I can´t remember that any other gaming team does these kind of tournament that are open to everyone free of charge. Also worth to mention is that there are actually some teams that are really happy out there now. Teams that might not have had this opportunity before and now have the perfect team to break through against top notch competition. And please take a look at the team list for a while and you will see many nations and a good mix of professional and amateur teams. Who knows, tomorrow might be the day when these boundaries are being questioned. I´m sure some of the accepted teams are dreaming about this as we speak. At very last, we will run more cups in the future and we will take all feedback from this tournament, only to create the best online cups for the community. Let us hope for some great games tomorrow. You are right, but coin has always two sides. Questsion is, Is that really better, to give slot to some random mix/not so good team, instead of giving that to some team who works hard on themselves? I think if i had to choose answer, its definitely NO. True, but it would be so cool if you guys increased the number of teams to not even 64 but 128 teams. Have them play 2 qualifying games and you get the same number - 32 teams but 32 best teams. Obviously that's more work but it's only 2 more online games to keep track of and that's how you could really stand out from all the tournaments out there. that's just my 2 cents. I thought it will be something like "region-pick". But i saw 3 teams from Hungary, 3 teams from Poland etc. i think it would be fair (in the future cups) to choose 1-2 teams from every registered country. On my mind it will be interesting for every team to play with foreign team.
