DTS abandon ICSC 8

Ukrainian team DTS have announced they have decided to quit ICSC 8, following a referee decision against them in the match versus Moscow Five.

Teams have been dropping out of ICSC 8 like there was no tomorrow, and today is no exception. DTS have informed the ICSC organizers, that they will not continue playing in the league, following a decision against them in the match versus Moscow Five.

DTS manager Vitalii "v1lat" Volochai told HLTV.org the following about the team's decision:

"So, we won't play all other matches at ICSC8, cause in game vs Moscow Five, referee of tournament didn't allowed us to play second part of game at our server, after we lost 11-4 1st part. Before game we made agreement with referees and M5 team, to play 1 side at M5 server and 2nd side at DTS server. But after 1st side referee didn't allowed us to switch a server, and gave def win to M5 team.

We don't really want to part at tournament with such awful rules and admin decisions, even we have nice chances to be at LAN-finals, and ffing all other 3 games. vs Fx, and vs paistit (2 games). Good Luck to them at LAN-finals."

With DTS pulling out of ICSC, Group D has just three teams now, Frag eXecutors, Moscow Five and paistit.

This is the sixth team to leave the eighth season of Intel Challenge Super Cup, question is, will it be the last?

Actually DTS provided a false statement. DTS played on their served the first half and had a much better ping than M5, nevertheless, they lost the 1st half 11-4. Before the game, DTS had already agree on playing the 2nd half on the M5 server but after losing the first half 11-4 they refused to change servers and therefor M5 won the remaining 5 rounds making the final score 16-4.

my point is that you must to stick to what you've agreed on. so basically m5 said sure we'll switch after 1st side and when they finished 1st side and it was time to switch they simply didn't. is that fair? if you know that you are not going to switch then don't make an agreement. that's all I'm saying.

well, actually we never heard about the terms of agreement. if the referee was aware of such consent why he hadn't allow teams to switch, that's the question. anyhow, they didn't switch servers in their previous game, so i don't understand why should m5 agree to that in the first place. dts should've finished the match, instead of pulling off the tournament. i really enjoed their perfomance at asus, so i hoped to see good games from them at ICSC.

oh for crying out loud, when will teams stop quitting from this tournament naturally it is stupid if they agree to change the server and then they say in the middle of the game that it isn't ok but imo it is childish from DTS players to make it a reason for quitting the league. it's online cs, there will always be ping differences (of course the admins should have handled it better, but the players should hold some responsibility)

lol really lesha? beating them at one lan tourney doesn't make them better than m5 by any means. If anything DTS should stop crying and try prove they are a top team rather than quit a tournament with lan finals. is esc a better team than navi because they beat them at dh? Either way, they're a promising team. But clearly have professionalism issues. If they played one full match on their server when m5 lost and didnt complain. I don't see how it is unfair to play a full match on m5's server. By the looks of the way that game was going too, i dont think a server change would have saved DTS.

Na'Vi later beat ESC 2-0 and yes that match in the group stage did prove that ESC was better than Na'Vi on de_nuke. Anyways, the point I was making was why the hell would you agree to switch if at the end of the day you didn't. that was all I was really questioning. I hate seeing this happen to DTS, b/c trust me they are a promising team too but only because Na'Vi overshadows them they don't get a lot of opportunities unlike m5. M5 sucked real bad at the beginning but as they get more international experience they get better. pretty sure DTS would do just as good if not better.

Just like in any other online league, home team gets to choose the server. I dont really know whom agreed on what in their scenario, but m5 played on DTS' server for one match. They are in full right to force DTS to play a full match on m5 server. besides, their ping difference was nominal.. to go as far as forfeiting the match and quitting the league for 5-10ping is ludicrous. This tournament was a good chance for DTS to get their international experience as you said. To throw it away because you got a bad beating in 1 half seems silly to me. As to whom is better, i definitely wouldn't say DTS > m5 any day.

sure, I agree. but this stuff keeps happening to DTS.. if you remember fnatic MSI tournament they lost to TCM in the similar fashion. must get frustrating for them. going solely on dts-m5 games it's 3:1 (if you count 11-4 match on d2 as a win for m5). in my mind dts is a stronger team.. but it is only an opinion so obviously you can think otherwise which is totally fine.

Sorry worst map is no excuse. N if you knew how to read im obviously stating that navi are a better team than esc. One set of games, or 1 match are no way to compare how good the team is. I can just as easily say m5 had a bad day. Second, whether you like it or not m5 beat DTS online too if were gonna care about internet matches. m5 > DTS asus winter 2-0 DTS > m5 asus spring 2-0 DTS > m5 icsc8 1-0 m5 > DTS icsc8 1-0 3-3. Is the prize-money very small or why is it that so many teams choose to drop out? I think it's pretty disrespectful towards the Counter-Strike community for teams to drop out of a tournament like this. I guarantee it is skif who has done this decision. Terrible main admin, making decision like he wants to make, doesn't want to go deep into the shit and find the right possible solution for both teams. This is why there are many unhappy teams and tournament by itself has many problems. Still some teams waiting for money and prises from the last events.. They should change something about it, because its just cant be teams fault all the time, and I am pretty sure he gave M5 win cause he does not like pops and his father:D

There is more to a CS server then just ping, reg and recoil are different from server to server. A team which has played many times on their own server will have some kind of advantage there :) That way it is fair to play a side on both team's server, just like they do it on ESL :) M5 are shit nabs, but please just add some other teams to this cup because this way it looks so bad....

What was DTS's ping at? And really none of the teams should be at fault here. If they admins made a promise to DTS to switch servers, they should have switched. I still don't think that's right to just drop out of a league entirely, though. 11-4 first half, no way DTS comesback on any server. The ICSC8 is becoming a joke now. 6 teams now, it's embarrassing for te CS community.

It still upsets me when "professionals" can't deal with ping above 80, seems to be why everyone's dropping out, sure it's not LAN. But you frag on and deal with it. Why they cry if they have decision to change servers before the game with THE ADMIN. But THE ADMIN cancel that decision in-game... Stop posting shit before reading.
