IMPULSE & Gameholics to GameGune

The United Arab Emirates will have two representatives at this year's GameGune, as both IMPULSE and Gameholics will travel to Bilbao

Adepto BH Open champions Natus Vincere were the first team to confirm themselves for the 2011 edition of GameGune, and now two teams from the UAE have also confirmed their attendance.

It is the BenQ Que Club winners from IMPULSE, alongside Gameholics, who will make an appearance in Bilbao, the confirmation was made yesterday on the domestic community site gaming420.

The two teams will be in Bilbao with the following lineups:

Those wondering why Alex "al00X" Lombard is not listed with IMPULSE, news has it he will be leaving the UAE, in order to return to his origin, the United Kingdom.

You clearly dont understand the mechanics behind, if all the same teams stay at top forever, and new teams dfont attend events with bigger teams, the scene will be dead, because no neew pro players means = dead game. Take Quake Live as an example, always same 16 players in a tournament, and no new players making their way to the top.

Noones gonna watch their games. Same teams all the time? Are you high? When was the last time we saw teams from China, South America etc. alltogether? Only at IEM World ch'ship I think... Instead of wasting the spots on these kinds of teams that won't even take 2 rounds in the tournament, why not add teams with great potential like BGDonline or HSBG who have actually showed something in the past... Spectators want to see nailbiting SK vs FX/NaVi etc. games, not these kinds of teams who get pwned every tournament with scores like 16-4. You really think those guys have a potential to become new progamers? You have a point, but try to think some things trough, You would never ever see these guys as progamers. Try some swedish teams like a2g or whatever..

if they always invite the same top10 teams ...then countries who are just "growing up" as far as gaming goes, will slowly loose interest. if they invite atleast 5-6 teams who arent so well known, it will spark more interest from countries who usually dont get a chance to send their teams @ big events. another great thing thats happening for CS now is more and more small lans like the ones in the balkans . instead of having just 6-7 BIG lans per year , u should have like 15 smaller lans and 3-4 big lans. its all about reaching to a bigger audience. thats why WCG is still succesfull, cus @ wcg every country can just buy 1 slot , while for events like IEM u need to qualify. im not saying wcg is better then IEM, im saying you need both types of events to really make the sport grow.

Yeah I agree that upcoming potentials need spots in these kinds of events, but not top 1000 unknown noobs, they won't attract any audience anyways. Try to be reasonable now, how can you say that spectators will slowly lose interest when we barely see these kinds of games these days? I can tell you from the ammount of spectators that noone gives a crap about games like SK vs WHAtevertop100team but great classic games always have about 7-10k+ specs only at HLTV, not counting the streams. And WCG isn't successful at all compared to other major events...

They are unknown because they dont have the chance to travel to Europe, simple as that. If they are able to beat euro teams or top teams, you will never know, until they have the same opportunitys as teams from EU have, maybe BGD or HSBG are better, but they also have more chances at European lans, they can participate at IEM, etc.

UAE has the money personally, i would like to participate at least in 1 BIG lan cs tournament in my life, to feel those true emotions, playing the game and so on... no matter if i and co. would lose all matches of our matches like 16-2 or something :D

As a member of the IMPULSE team.. I know you guys haven't heard of us probably at all, but we do compete here in the UAE and we do practice hard for upcoming tournaments especially this one since its been confirmed.. Q.dominium, till now are not attending. A.list quit cs. to be honest, people need to be more positive about this. The CS scene started growing here a lot this year specially after benq. and enough with the stereotyping; its not as if we pee petrol. Good luck to Impulse and GH, I think Impulse will do some damage this year.
