SK move past Fx to reach ICSC 8 final

SK Gaming have moved into the Grand Final at ICSC 8 finals in Kiev, following a 2-0 defeat of Frag eXecutors.

The first map in the semi-final between the two giants turned out to be de_train, with Frag eXecutors earning the right to start on the CT side. The Poles picked up the all-important pistol round, securing them a head start in the match. Things went smooth for Fx and it was only towards the end of the half, they seemed to loosen up a bit and let SK take over the bomb sites. SK did not manage to score the same amount of T rounds as yesterday's match on train, but were able to squeeze in three rounds before half-time, with a 12-3 score for Fx.

SK replicated FX's great start from the first half, locking down the pistol round as CT. The Swedes kept scoring rounds and let the first round slip after having a 6-0 lead. SK continued to take rounds, and Fx had a difficult time getting things to click when attacking the bomb sites. Winning their eighth round of the half, Fx had scored one too, the two teams were all tied up at the score 14-14.

SK collected the second to last round of the half, not giving Fx a whole lot of money to play with. The Swedes also swept the last round, putting the score at 16-14 in their favor. Noteworthy on the CT side was Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg, who played a stellar half.

On the second map de_dust2, SK started on the T side, but it was Fx who won the pistol round, after Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund failed to win a 1-versus-3 situation. Fx quickly racked up rounds, but SK were just as quick to even it out, bringing the half to a 6-6 score. The three remaining rounds of the half, went in favor of the Swedes, producing a 9-6 lead at half-time.

SK extended that lead by winning the CT pistol round, where Fx only managed to kill one of the Swedes. In the second round, Fx went for the buy and went towards the A site. A bright idea by the Poles, who managed to down the SK members defending the site, but in the end lost a 2-versus-1 situation to let the round slip away. It was only after SK had produced a 14-6 lead, that Fx managed to win their first round of the second half.

SK secured match point the following round, but the round after Fx secured a lifeline, winning the round and putting SK on eco. After one eco SK went on the buy again, but once again Fx won the round, forcing the Swedes on an additional eco round, putting the score at 15-11 in favor of SK. The following round SK sealed the victory, after Fx had tried yet another push towards the A site, winning 16-11 and 2-0 overall.
