Four rounds punishment to M5

GameGune organizers have penalized Moscow Five for using their manager Maxim "nirvana_sf'' Zalilov in the last four rounds of match against LowLandLions.

Moscow Five defeated LowLandLions 22-8 on de_dust2 in the third round of the group stage at GameGune 2011. Moscow Five manager Maxim "nirvana_sf'' Zalilov took over for Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov and played the last four rounds of the match, just for the fun of it.

After the match the Dutchmen filed a dispute, which the GameGune organizers decided endorse, meaning four were given to LLL, meaning the final result is instead 18-12 in favor of Moscow Five.

Dosia let M5 manager enjoy four rounds of fun

In the grand scheme of things, it does not really change much in the group, LowLandLions are still placed fourth with 3 points.

chill dude, it was just 4 rounds. but the problems is that they force the teams to play all 30 rounds. playing all rounds is lame and you lose motivation and everything after one team has won.

Just because it is ridiculous that they have to play out all 30 rounds, it doesn't make it any less disrespectful/unsportsmanlike to get up and stop playing and have your manager play in your spot at the professional level.

For starters, they do have a motive, and a strong one, for the 30 rounds to be played. If a tie occurs, the fact that you played 30 rounds allow you to scale each team according to the number of rounds won. So it helps avoiding doing extra matches, wich would be even more exhausting to each team and would allow even more delays in schedule. So, NO, they don't do it for the heck of it or, as you say, "for the simple reason - we can force it". Plus, Examplifying is never a valid argument. Next time get_your_facts_right.

First of all, they, in a way, humiliated LLL. How would you feel if they were to let their manager play against you after they had already defeated you? What they did was just pure disrespect. Secondly, the fact that they have to play all 30 rounds is there to ensure that every team has an equal chance of going through in case of a two-way or a three-way tie because they all have the same number of rounds played. It may be boring, but they are PAID to play CS and they cannot just give someone else the job, even for four rounds, if they don't feel like playing! Also, Dosia was registered for GameGune, not nirvana_sf, meaning that he has no right to play on anyone's behalf. There are some things that I failed to mention, but that was because I am to lazy to do so.

It's not about loving M5 or not, it's about being fair. They won 18 rounds rounds in a legit manner, disqualifying them would be extremely retarded and unfair, -4 rounds in this case is the best decision you can get, and if you fail to see that then i have nothing left to say. And which is the tournament you're talking about these days where you have to play all 30 roudns?

Most group stages require full rounds, to make Round Difference a differentiating factor. In the ESWC groupstage for example, there was that dispute when a team just left after winning 16-4, and in the end the 10 rounds that didn't get played got given to the team with 4 to make 16-14 Final Score... As the ESWC ruleset you can only use _officially registered_ subs. I'm relatively sure GG have a similar ruleset.

Rules can be bent. Attitude like yours would kill and spit on e-Sports, btw it isn't like it's extremely professional itself :), epic delays, computers sometimes crashing etc. 5 mins late to a match? OK lets DQ you, made a mistake, ok DQ, get where i'm going? It's about being fair, life isn't all about rules, sometimes you just need to be fair to people, but ofcourse in extreme situations (swearing at talking ingame) this doesn't apply, or it does? Just reminded myself the Loord's "fucking china" case. Mistakes happen and GG admins are great people as you can see, I'm sure by now M5 realizes their mistake and it won't happen again. Everybody(almost) deserves a 2nd chance.

why? ... if i put myself into one of LLL players shoes i would feel humiliated. Just becouse M5 are better than them does not mean that they should brag and make fun of them in this way. i don't get why some people here use the argument that, in case of a three-way-tie it is more accurate to play all rounds. well, it is NOT. it is a fact that rounds that are played after a winner has already been decided aren't played with the same focus, so playing them actually has no sense what so ever, because they don't reflect on the game and distort the actual round difference. so yeah, i'd rather have them not played, even if a three-way-tie occured. if one team manages to decide the game with less rounds, they get a higher round difference which is good for them, period. of course, what m5 did was very unprofessional and should be punished. i am just saying it could have been avoided by not having retarded rules.
